We were lucky enough to have a premium site and it was perfect! Being close to the highway and an airport was a little noisy but we got used to it. We will be back!

My stay was at the perfect time to see the spring blooms, the landscaping was really quite pretty. Most of the staff was helpful and very friendly. What was a bit peculiar was this was the second KOA I've been to this year that was willing to forgo cabin rentals so they didn't have to pay for housekeeping services.

Over all it was a ok place to stay… not very pet friendly on your camp site if you use a fence system I don’t recommend staying at this location when you and your pet are not using the fence they want you to take it down and store it. Which is why I would not recommend this place most people we know travel with pets.

Thought it was at Mt Plesant but ended up in Langston. Very nice just longer drive to shipyard baseball field. Our family enjoyed our time together there. Very courteous and nice place.

I stayed for 1 night and was robbed by the trailer park rundown neighborhood attached to KOA. they allow these people to use the facilities and have stolen from the RV park many times yet they still have no video surveillance and had no repercussions for my e-bike being stolen right from in front of my RV. They did NOTHING!!. PS I am a KOA member this one is the WORST!

Son and family live in Goose Creek. Campground is close to them.

Great stay. Loved the privacy on the back row. Clean. Caring staff. Will be back. Only downside might be air traffic. We enjoyed watching Air Force aircraft.

The staff was friendly and very helpful.

They have been doing a lot of work on the facilities and it shows. But the neighboring trailer park residents use the laundry and the bathrooms to the point of rediculousness. Why am I paying and I can’t get a shower or use a washer/dryer??? Why doesn’t the codes get changed to keep the facilities for paying customers? Wish there was somewhere else local.

The locations was easy to get into 26, but lots of ambulance noise and highway traffic noise. I had cat fights under my camper waking me up several nights and cat urine on my chairs. Lots of cats in the camp ground.
Mar 24, 2025
My site, E10, was so close to my neighbor, that I couldn't even sit outside without being up against their vehicles and sewer connection. That plus the noise from trains and traffic made it a miserable stay.

This is a good spot if you need to stay over a night or two on your way to other places. The campground is situated near a trailer park and there was loud music playing most of afternoon on Saturday. There was also a big-rig parked near me that ran their generator during the day. There are a lot (and I do mean a lot) of stray cats on the property Drove my dogs nuts.

We enjoyed our short stay and was impressed with how neat and clean the whole campground was! The sites are nice and roomy and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. We also appreciated the trash pick up each morning!

Everything was just fine. The park was well cared for. I did not use the bathrooms or laundry but we would definitely stay there again . Sites were level and the park is being maintained quite well.

Tough location. Police or fire sirens all night and highway traffic noise. Train nearby(as usual for koa’s!) but not close enough to be a problem. Facility was clean and adequate for a one night stay but for us too much outside traffic activity.
Mar 03, 2025
It was VERY loud. I am not sure if it was in the campground, or trailer park, but there was music playing so loud and people sounding like they were having a party. That was the only issue we had. (We were a little worried about the neighborhood surrounding. Seemed sketchy especially when the police were there at night).

We could tell that you're putting in the effort to maintain a nice campground. The grounds were well kept and clean. We enjoyed our stay, and had no problems. The staff were polite and helpful as well. We will definitely stay again if in the area.

Questionable part of town. Trailer park next door run down. Lots of feral cats running around.

We had a nice week at Charleston and would do it again at some point.

Easy in and out. Level site. Previous comments regarding feral cats overly exaggerated. Stayed 6 days and walked my dog twice each day. Only saw 4 cats over the 6 days and they were only along the northern side front fence. We were in a 41ft diesel motorcoach. Friendly and helpful staff

I happy to hear you enjoyed your stay. We hope to see you again soon.

We stayed at many different KOA campgrounds on our past two vacations. In Charleston we found the office staff not very friendly. When we went to our site it was snow/slush and mud covered. We could see many other drier sites. We were told no outdoor dog pens, or loose animals, never an issue any place else. No loose animals but across from us 10 cats roaming around. Would not recommend.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Unfortunately your visit was during a very rare snow in Charleston. We had a skeleton crew due to icy roads and staff worked extremely hard to clear snow and ice as much as possible. No loose animals is for the safety of all guests and pets.

Staff was always available, even with an unexpected snow storm! Camp store was great, and it was super convenient being able to get propane tanks filled on site. Will stay again!

I am happy to hear you enjoyed your stay. You will have to come back and visit us in better weather.

The best part about the campground was the playground for the kids. Very nice equipment and the kids really enjoyed it. As for the reason for the low rating, our spot had constant standing water (above ankle deep) prior to the snow and after, broken washer and dryers with 2 out of 10 working, some of the office staff was stand off ish, bathrooms were clean until they started backing up.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Standing water is an unpleasant part of living in the lowcountry. We were working with a limited staff do to the snow storm that our area is not use to. Any other issues the staff available would have been more than happy help with.

All was okay. People were nice and bathrooms were clean. Close to everything if you need to go anywhere. Area next to the campground not the best.

The rv sites could use a lot more tender loving care. I understand there are full time residents in rv parks. Some take care of their sites better than others. One full time residents had at least 20 Ferrel cats lying around his small rv with food left out in the open. The office had a sign on the door telling people not to let the cats in. They knew of the problem. I won't be going back.

The woman who checked us in was very nice and friendly. Its not really the KOA that was a let down so much as the awful trailer park next door. It was awful

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Please don't judge us by our neighbors. We have no problems with them and work hard at keeping a clean safe campground.

We had a great Memorial Day stay! The pool was fantastic..lots of room and loved the hammocks. The staff was very friendly and responded immediately to any request we had. It was an easy drive to downtown Charleston and Mt Pleasant. It did rain and there was some pooling of water around some of our campers, but it drained quickly...after all it is called the "low country". Would definitely stay again. Update: we just stayed again for the 6th year in a row. They have stepped up their game with a few new additions around the campground and a dedicated maintenance crew that is on top of it. Highly recommend.

We enjoy our time at KOAs, however everything about this one was "off" in so many little ways which is not typical of the KOA brand. First it started with bad set of Google map directions in the welcome email which sent us 10 miles to a private residence. If you Google "Charleston KOA" for directions, it sends you to the correct location. Secondly, the tent site A10 is a parking logistics nightmare because of the close proximity of a metal grill, tree, shrub, dog waste container, and large RVs in the row across from our site. If a vehicle was in A11, our car doors would have hit each other due to the 2 feet difference in our adjacent gravel parking pads. An 8 foot fence does a good job of blocking out the ridiculously bright gas station floodlights. But the fence does not block the frequent emergency vehicle sirens from the highway (I've never heard so many sirens at night!) The bathrooms literally sparkles and are squeaky clean, however, do not hope for water pressure and hair shampooing in these showers (you'll want the phone # to their cleaning lady because she does such a great job!) Everyone is super friendly here and the curbside trash pickup was very nice amenity. The grounds are neat and tidy, water and electric at each site was convenient.
