Not what we would expect. Shared entrance with a trailer park and not a secure entrance/exit. Loud music played by other campers (during the day) Sites not level and did not drain well after rain.

They are definitely trying to make the park better and they have done a lot of updates but there are clearly people who live there full time which isn’t typical for KOA. The location on the other hand is not great.

Positives:*Deluxe patio-end of a row. Spacious and level, Pool, laundry clean.*Staff friendly, helpful. Info page said NO dog fences. We asked (thinking issue was putting them in the ground). Staff advised they ARE allowed if taken down when not in use.Win! Negatives: *WiFi in our row down-whole stay, regular sites look small some uneven, long term guests disruptive. *Dog fence raised our rating!

let me say the jump scare from the occasional super low jets is awesome. plus there is a huge amount of stray cats roaming the property. no wonder the place was half empty on a weekend

Kind of an urban setting. Lots of cats to interact with. The staff was very helpful. Nigel’s soul food was very good. The town of Somerville is about 10 minutes away and a lot of great places to eat there also. About a 30 minute drive to downtown Charleston.

We had our firewood stolen the first night the got ravaged by fire ants nested around your hook up’s the second night at site D5

While the campground was nice, they had a company show up at 0730 to remove a tree, which was a rather rude awakening. Also the lady next to us kept draining her grey tank straight onto the ground under her trailer.

We are sorry for the inconvenience with the morning noise. We had a dangerous tree that had to come down as soon as possible before the storms rolled in that afternoon.

We were there for our son’s Navy graduation, so we were spending most of our time out of the park. The staff we did deal with in the store were all very friendly. The pool was clean the little bit of time we spent in it. Got to watch my boys possibly play together for the last time in your pool, they’re 22,17 and 16 and the oldest will be leaving for good soon. Thank you for those memories.

Site was nice enough but wish there had been an umbrella over the sitting area. Disappointed in the bathhouse. Husband has physical challenges and the shower areas are not sat up with the room needed to navigate.

Location close to highway. Sites were easy to access, showers, office and laundry all in one location. Staff were friendly and helpful.

I can't say it was a quiet stay because of the airplanes, trains, and a close fire department, but I can say 90% it was a quiet stay. Clean, well staffed, level sites, great water pressure.

friendly people, nice clean park, except for the cat crap all over ours and other sites. a trailer site directly behind ours had no less than 10 outdoor cats. when complained about the fact that our dogs could not be out and we were stepping in cat crap. We were told it has been an issue but nothing they can do about it, no less than 5 food bowls feeding them. And a flatbed tow truck next to us.

Cabin 11 was needing a good pressure wash. Boring bees were out of control on porch. Stove was not user friendly. No temperature indication on oven. No sharp knives.

Great staff. Excellent spacious patio site. WiFi was great. Good size dog park and lots of walking space. Easily accessible to Charleston at the right time of day. Great stay!

Friendly staff and very helpful. Grounds looked good. Pool was clean and had new chairs and umbrellas. The playground looked new, although we didn't use that. We stayed in a deluxe camping cabin, it was pretty clean, but the beds were not comfortable at all. It could use some upgrades. Overall, it's pretty close to Charleston and alot of stores, fast food close by.

Pros: The pool area was very nice! The entire property was covered in beautiful flowers and lovely trees. The office employees were extremely helpful and wonderful. The bathrooms had nice hot water and ac units to keep them comfortable. Cons: The grass tent site was primarily dirt. Lots of ants/bees in our campsite. Campground in a very urban area with lots of city noise.

Smooth check in. A quiet camp and the sites were a good size. We didn't use any of the facilities but the pool looked clean and furniture was clean.

Very kind & helpful staff. Enjoyed my stay in a cabin while visiting my daughter who was camping there. Everything was clean. The location was perfect for enjoying areas around Charleston. Looking forward to another stay.

We were scheduled to stay 5/11-5/23 but changed campgrounds 5/14 because we didn’t feel this KOA was as clean and as safe as KOAs typically are. We’ve always defaulted to staying at koas because we think we know they’ll be nice. This koa has taught us we can’t assume all koas are nice.

It is great going to bed and hearing five gun shots before you lock your camper door and seeing individuals obviously not a camper walking around your vehicle. Would NOT recommend staying here. Horrible and pulled out as soon as sun came up.

We stayed here for 1 night while we were traveling home. The campground staff were very friendly, the site was nice & quiet and the facilities were very clean. It was a very convenient and comfortable stay.

Reserved site for a 39ft fifth wheel and they put me in a heavily treed small site location when the park had very limited guests and multiple large sites available during the duration of our stay. Sites also had many low spots which resulted in pools of water around your rig. With minimal park maintenance, this could have been avoided. Would not recommend this location!

We would have been happy to find you a different site if you would have brought your concerns to the office staff. Unfortunately living in the lowcountry puddling and standing water are unavoidable after a day of rain.

Stayed for 3 nights. Nice place, clean bath/shower rooms. Daily trash pick up. Dog run area close by. A little far away from Patriots Point and historic area, with heavy traffic to and from. But it is what it is given the size of the Charelston metro area.

Campground was very well maintained, bathrooms were clean and modern, pool is very nice and clean and is important to me. Free coffee in the morning is great and the staff is friendly. What more could you want from a campground.

We had a great Memorial Day stay! The pool was fantastic..lots of room and loved the hammocks. The staff was very friendly and responded immediately to any request we had. It was an easy drive to downtown Charleston and Mt Pleasant. It did rain and there was some pooling of water around some of our campers, but it drained quickly...after all it is called the "low country". Would definitely stay again. Update: we just stayed again for the 6th year in a row. They have stepped up their game with a few new additions around the campground and a dedicated maintenance crew that is on top of it. Highly recommend.

We enjoy our time at KOAs, however everything about this one was "off" in so many little ways which is not typical of the KOA brand. First it started with bad set of Google map directions in the welcome email which sent us 10 miles to a private residence. If you Google "Charleston KOA" for directions, it sends you to the correct location. Secondly, the tent site A10 is a parking logistics nightmare because of the close proximity of a metal grill, tree, shrub, dog waste container, and large RVs in the row across from our site. If a vehicle was in A11, our car doors would have hit each other due to the 2 feet difference in our adjacent gravel parking pads. An 8 foot fence does a good job of blocking out the ridiculously bright gas station floodlights. But the fence does not block the frequent emergency vehicle sirens from the highway (I've never heard so many sirens at night!) The bathrooms literally sparkles and are squeaky clean, however, do not hope for water pressure and hair shampooing in these showers (you'll want the phone # to their cleaning lady because she does such a great job!) Everyone is super friendly here and the curbside trash pickup was very nice amenity. The grounds are neat and tidy, water and electric at each site was convenient.
