There were about 50 cigarette butts around our picnic bench area and trash in the forest behind us. A little pricey for having a small travel trailer and not using the septic & water hook ups.

We stayed for 5 nights with reservations suggested by others. Upon arrival at this “Holiday” rated KOA, we saw no gates and shared drive with a dated trailer park, so anyone can just drive into the KOA. The grounds were well kept up and the staff was very friendly. We had no problems, but the KOA Holiday rating seems to be misleading. Not at all what we expected for the rating.

Was a little disappointed about our site. Our deluxe site was not what I expected compared to other koa’s we stayed at, plus our site was not long enough for our 45 with a toad. The park itself was nice.

This park does not allow temporary dog fences/pen, the only KOA we have ever run into with this policy. We will never stay there again!

Disappointed in this Holiday KOA. Laundry room filthy, machines dirty and broken, and is open for public use. Dog fences not allowed, but seems this is enforced irregularly. We had a premium pull-thru patio deluxe site. BBQ was filthy, burners covered with food, and no BBQ tools provided. Patio furniture was very nice but also filthy. Many RV parks around, will be checking them out next time.

Easy to find. Check in went smoothly. Staff was polite and helpful. Campground is connected to “trailer” type homes. Not very appealing. Overall no issues. Laundry area needs a bit of maintenance. But overall working fine. Very shaded areas- lots of trees. Easy access to I-26 to get into Charleston. Decent enough place

Campsites and restrooms were good. The internet was terrible. It worked, but it was so slow that about all I could do with it was email. Because of the internet problem, we'll look for another campground the next time we come to Charleston. Please let us know if you improve the internet situation.

The facility was very good. My problem was with the noise from nearby highways, train tracks and the Air Force base. When I made my reservation, there were only two sites available (20A & water only) yet four similar sites on either side of us were vacant during our stay.

This is a nice KOA but the area is a little sketchy upon arrival. Don't let the neighborhood deter you, we had no issues during the entire week of our stay and we found the staff and other guests to be friendly and helpful. Our Son and his family recently moved to the Goose Creek area so we will definitely be back.

Came as a group. All the planning that was made beforehand was done. Staff was very friendly and the park was very well maintained.

The campground was noisy. planes, cars. Kids were playing in the women bathroom with water and toilet paper. The staff was very helpful and welcoming.

We were given a spot in this KOA where it appears that there are people who live there. A group of Mexican men were in what appeared to be trailer type things. They were not travel trailers at all. The other side of campground was very nice. I was very uncomfortable when we first set up our travel trailers because of the Mexicans being parked near us.

The stay was fine for the most part. It seemed there were many long-term residents in RVs that were less than what we see in other KOA facilities. We had neighbors that were loud but we realize that is out of the control of the KOA. We will most likely look at other campground opportunities should we need to stay in the Charleston SC area.

Spacious sites, otherwise nothing special. Local area is less than desirable although we had no issues. Traffic commute to Charleston attractions is a challenge.

This KOA nicely accommodated our RV club rally. It was clean- and staff was very friendly. My only complaint was the placement of the sewer hookup was so far from my trailer, approximately 25-30ft! -Useless for me as I have never needed and don’t have that much hose to reach the sewer���

Our RV club held a rally here with 27 RVs. Parks was ever accommodative. We had a great time.

We were at the Charleston KOA for a "rally" with 27 other campers from Sun City Hilton Head. We had a great time. Enjoyed using your gathering area for get togethers. Very clean campground and restrooms. Our deluxe spot was great, nice outdoor furniture and a grill.

Staff and Facilities were top notch. Such nice and accommodating folks. The location is unfortunate between planes, trains, trucks and other noise its not a very quiet place. But if you don't mind noise it's great.

Very good staff, grounds kept clean, daily trash pickup at your site, bathrooms a bit dated but very clean,and showers worked really well. Only drawback was noise at night from traffic and trains blowing there horn.

The staff was nice, but it was kind of frustrating to be specifically told at check-in that they don't allow dog pens, then to see multiple set up throughout the park. Also, the laundry facilities were pretty rough and multiple times I saw people from the mobile home park coming over to use laundry, the playground, etc.

Making reservations- perfect ,checking-perfect. Our site -perfect. We have two small dogs and we have a small fenced decorative area for them around the steps of our camper on our property not infringing on anybody else.. our two dogs are never outside alone, we clean up instantly when they pee and poo, we are responsible dog owners, but yet we had to take our fencing down. We won’t be back..

This was not a Holiday level KOA. After staying at many KOAs and often seeking out the Holiday or resort level we were VERY disappointed in the conditions of the park. It was not well maintained and it was overrun with feral cats. We counted over 20 on our first walk in the park. The staff at the desk were very pleasant at checked and had the tough job I’m sure of dealing with complaints.

Very disappointed. There was a light rain before we arrived and continued for two of the four nights we were there. The entire site we were at had 2 to 3 inches of standing water. Looking around, we noticed that probably half the sites were like that. What made it worse was there are no lights in the campground. It was horrible trying to get to our camper in the dark with water everywhere!

We didn't get to experience too much. It rained the entire time (obviously out of your control). Our first site was under water and they moved us to another site which was very kind of them. However, the site had an electrical problem. Fortunately the maintenance guy had not gone home for the day and he was able to correct the problem. Once we were settled in, all was good.

Other than the 4 days of rain from the storms offshore, the park had a nice game room and small playground for the younger kids. There was a mobile home park adjacent but seen no real problems from the area. I would definitely stay there again.

Stay was pretty good overall. This was just a one night stay for me while in town for an event. My only complaint would be the way campsites are assigned. There were not a lot of folks in the campground loop I was in so there were a lot of empty sites. It would have been MUCH nicer to have not assigned me a site right beside another camper/family when there were so many.empty sites around.

Feral cat problem on the north side. Our spot was like a liter box. I told the lady at the desk and she said she knew about the problem and would send someone to help me clean poop up. Nobody showed. Permanent residents here also.

Update 7/7/2026 This KOA has improved since 5 years ago. Cleaned up, a little more gravel (could used more to cover the mud). Salt water pool. Lawn is looking good and well kept. There are a lot of permanent residents but they are in the back. No accumulated junk very nicely kept. Full hookups WiFi spotty. Pricy at $73 a night. 5 years ago: Best KOA we have stayed in so far. They received an extra star just for the staff. They were very helpful accommodating and responsive to concerns. Most sites are pretty close together but for KOA they are above average. Campground is well kept we had 50amp water sewer and cable. They have a swimming pool and garbage service at your rig. Enough room to maneuver big rigs. Pricey at a little over $70 a night with 10% discount. I'm not sure how that compares for the area.

Stayed here for 5 days. Beautiful campsites, friendly neighbors. Washer and dryer are workable. Friendly staff in camp store. Free coffee every morning. Pool was warm. Patio site was leveled.

We had a great Memorial Day stay! The pool was fantastic..lots of room and loved the hammocks. The staff was very friendly and responded immediately to any request we had. It was an easy drive to downtown Charleston and Mt Pleasant. It did rain and there was some pooling of water around some of our campers, but it drained quickly...after all it is called the "low country". Would definitely stay again. Update: we just stayed again for the 6th year in a row. They have stepped up their game with a few new additions around the campground and a dedicated maintenance crew that is on top of it. Highly recommend.
