Too dog friendly we will have to see if there are campgrounds that don't allow pets

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are proud to be dog friendly and make sure all our literature advertises that we welcome fury friends.

So many cats! All you smell is cat urine. Someone tried to break into our camper, but fortunately they did not succeed. I told the gentleman in the office. The shower pressure is horrible...took forever to get shampoo out of my hair. How did you ever get classified as a Holiday KOA??

Camper across from us in E6 was changing the brake drums and wheel bearings on his dual axle camper while we were there. His outdoor table was filled with tools brake drums cans of aerosol brake cleaner etc. Campground daily trash run should have seen this. Aerosol spray drifted our way at times. Threw away our outdoor 7 gal water container as a result. Maybe let him use your maintenance shed?

Campground bathrooms were clean. Park felt save. Fair amount of noise from the planes, trains and automobiles, being near airport, rails and major road. About 30 minutes from Charleston tourist sites.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The campsite was roomy and easily accessible. The park was convenient to Charleston and nearby attractions.

It was an ok stay, we most likely would not stay here again. The entrance is through a sketchy area, there was quite a bit of sirens and train noise. The laundry is open to the elements and in need of updating. Several machines out of service. I didn’t go in the bathrooms. Upside is there is lots of shade to help keep you cool in the summer months.

Nothing at all to complain about with our stay. We picked this location because it is so convenient to Charleston where we visit our family. Would definitely stay again.

We were squeezed between 2 others, one who decided to dump grey water tank on the ground covering our site and doorway entrance. Park was not full or even close to full while there. I've never been so disappointed in a koa and really question their affiliation! Not their standards.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Your neighbor was new to the camping world and we love to have first timers to help through the learning curve. You were offered a new site and a refund which you refused both and decided to take out your frustrations on staff trying to help the situation.

Place is ok for staying to sight see in Charleston, but not a destination place. Sites are close together, we asked to change to one with more room. Half of washers/dryers didn't work. Nice paved roads and dog park.

Stayed here for 2 nights to get my RV ready for the season. Nice small park…good for a overnight stay.

Staff was very friendly and professional. Camp is very well located to CSU, Charleston and Summerville.

This was my second time staying at this KOA. Both times I’ve been assigned the same campsite. My stay was fine. Nothing spectacular as I was just staying one night while attending a concert. Sites and bathrooms were clean and that is always a plus.

The campground was very nice. It is located near the highway but the highway noise was minimal. The only concern we had, but not a huge one, was trying to get out in the morning with all the traffic going to work at 7:00 AM. (Had to be at the golf course by 8:00)

Very nice park, but terrible internet access! I would have rated much higher if they had a functioning WI FI that was capable of streaming to my TV. Also, not the campgrounds fault, but no cell service (Verizon).

We are regulars staying at your KOA. We love the area and your pet friendly park.

Wonderful RV park. Some of the largers lots I've ever seen at a park. Plenty of space between lots. Plenty of shade, and a nice wooded area around the park. The staff was very friendly and always ready to help. Great RV park. We will be back.

Loved our stay. Dog park was nice and our spot was big enough that the dogs had room to move around. Staff was very helpful and friendly

NICE bathroom! We tent camped and it was very cold so I was thrilled to have a temperature controlled restroom. We got in late and finding our spot was very easy, the whole stay was great.

The Charleston KOA is one of the older KOAs that is fully functional and clean, but feels tired and out of date. On the plus side, the staff are friendly, the park is clean, and the price is right for staying in Charleston. On the flip side, the sites are gravel, the entrance is narrow entering in via a mobile home park, and the long term rvs are a bit run-down.

Thank you for a pleasant stay near what we needed to do. Really enjoyed the kittens!

All is good except WAY TOO MANY unsolicited emails and surveys from corporate. Leave the campers alone and just provide good service.

It would be nice if there were more activities for kids. And laundry is not 24 hrs

We had a great Memorial Day stay! The pool was fantastic..lots of room and loved the hammocks. The staff was very friendly and responded immediately to any request we had. It was an easy drive to downtown Charleston and Mt Pleasant. It did rain and there was some pooling of water around some of our campers, but it drained quickly...after all it is called the "low country". Would definitely stay again. Update: we just stayed again for the 6th year in a row. They have stepped up their game with a few new additions around the campground and a dedicated maintenance crew that is on top of it. Highly recommend.

We enjoy our time at KOAs, however everything about this one was "off" in so many little ways which is not typical of the KOA brand. First it started with bad set of Google map directions in the welcome email which sent us 10 miles to a private residence. If you Google "Charleston KOA" for directions, it sends you to the correct location. Secondly, the tent site A10 is a parking logistics nightmare because of the close proximity of a metal grill, tree, shrub, dog waste container, and large RVs in the row across from our site. If a vehicle was in A11, our car doors would have hit each other due to the 2 feet difference in our adjacent gravel parking pads. An 8 foot fence does a good job of blocking out the ridiculously bright gas station floodlights. But the fence does not block the frequent emergency vehicle sirens from the highway (I've never heard so many sirens at night!) The bathrooms literally sparkles and are squeaky clean, however, do not hope for water pressure and hair shampooing in these showers (you'll want the phone # to their cleaning lady because she does such a great job!) Everyone is super friendly here and the curbside trash pickup was very nice amenity. The grounds are neat and tidy, water and electric at each site was convenient.
