This KOA was a perfect halfway stopping point for our roadtrip East. The cabin was clean and simple, perfect for our family of 4 + dog. We enjoyed the stay so much that we booked the same cabin on the way back West! Melissa from the front office was so kind and helped us modify our reservations due to Winter Storm Blair.

I only stayed a night while driving through the state; however, my stay was probably my favorite KOA experience. The campsite was quite beautiful, my cabin was super nice (a tv and refrigerator!), and the camp had turned on my heater ahead of time so it was warm and cozy for me. The bathrooms were very clean and check-in/out was straight forward.

Overall it was pretty good. The cabin we rented had a horrid sewage smell and when we brought it up to the office they didn’t care. Even with the windows open it was unbearable

I stayed in one of the cabins over night due to a work meeting at Rend Lake and loved it. Check in was smooth and easy, the cabin was clean and cozy. I will definitely go back and stay again.

Oh my goodness - the deluxe cabin is perfect! It was comfortable, had wifi and cable tv and had a f kitchen and bath. Couldn't ask for more! I will definitely be back. You are now one of my favorite places

Great. Lil messy around the edges. Needs some grooming around fences and edges. Need a fence or blocking wall around garbage dumpster. Very nice people. Laundry area needs cleaned and dead plants removed. Pool area decent, pool bottom needs cleaned. Nice location. Suggest having rental fishing equipment for the pond. Mow more. Cabin was very clean and nice! Had very good stay. Thank you!

Older cabins reasonably clean. Staff helpful. Men's restroom code didn't work for several hours. Grounds look run down on one side of street. Newer and more well kept section across the street from office.

The cabin was very nice and clean as well as the bathroom and showers. There just wasn’t much for the kids to do. You can tell it’s an older campground but just not as nice as we are used to with the KOAs being family friendly and more stuff for the kids to do.

Seems we always pick the wrong time for the pool but get to use eventually. Everyone is always friendly which makes it a nice stay over.

We've been going there for 14 yrs now. Absolutely love it! We know the owner, her late husband, and their children, and they are the most wonderful people!! We love going down there! Just wish we had more time to spend there. HIGHLY RECOMMEND BENTON KOA!!

The KOA in Benton Illinois the cabins were nice. The grounds were kept clean and very nice. The staff was friendly. My code would not work on one of the bathrooms and the shower in the other bathroom had no Hot water had to walk across to the main building to take a shower.

We stopped here on our way to (and from) our daughter’s home in Wisconsin. The campground is clean, quiet and well maintained. Pretty spot, conveniently located near the interstate. Didn’t bring the camper this trip so we took advantage of the cabins.

The cabin was very sticky. We had to pretty much peel items of the table. It was very disappointing to see the cleaning standards go down from our prior stays at this KOA

Our site overlooking the pond was wonderful. We paid for linens and they were great quality. Bed has a good memory foam mattress. Unfortunately futon is rather hard. Will definitely stay again and probably bring a foam mattress pad.

The Lodge we rented was great. Came with a mini fridge with an actual freezer on top. The camp ground had everything our family needed to enjoy our time and plenty of activities. Becky was SUPER! She was the nicest lady when we checked in and spent time telling us about the amenities and very helpful with the couple of questions we had during the stay. Definitely coming back!

We arrived in the late evening, everything we needed was ready for us and after hours check in was a breeze… great start! Next morning when we woke up there were staff at the pond(right outside of our cabin) cleaning the paddle boats, both stopped what they were doing to greet us, they seemed sincerely interested in how we were doing. The cabin was great and clean. However, there was standing water in the bathroom/shower room. Your feet were in the water when you used the bathroom. My biggest problem was the pet charge. I have stayed at other KOA’s where they charge you a $10 pet charge. Benton charges a $25 pet charge. I think it is way too high and made the affordable cabin expensive. Probably won’t be back.

The only criticism I have is about the pet fee. $25 seems excessive for a basic camper cabin where there is no bedding or anything else really to clean except a broom out. I can understand for the other cabin types that require a much bigger clean. That said I love this KOA and have stayed many times.

Pros: Owners are very kind and welcoming. Hot showers, microwave, mini-fridge and close to Rend Lake Cons: Carpenter bee's swarming the porch of the cabin was annoying. Large cobwebs in the cabin. Kitchen area needed cleaned before using. Bathroom sink is super small and the light and mirror are down too low. Outdoor amenities seem old (play sets, swings, some picnic tables, etc)

I stay here fairly frequently and have stayed in pretty much every cabin at this point. I also stay in KOA cabins around the country. These are very top rate. Not all are. Having a microwave and fridge in even the camping cabins (no bath cabins) is a real plus as is an extra couple of seats and reliable internet. I had none of those at the one in Georgia last night. Keep up the great work Benton.

Fantastic. Someone there to Check you in, and lead you to your spot after a 7 hour driving day. Plenty of eating/drinking opportunities 5 minutes into town. Nice Pool. Would stay here again, coming through.

Benton KOA Journey is an easy overnight stop just off I-57. Since we were already familiar with the campground layout, we called ahead to ask if we could go directly to our site on the opposite side of the road from the office and check in afterward. The staff gladly accommodated our request. We stayed in Deluxe Full-Hookup Pull-Through Patio Site 65, which made it easy to center our 40-foot fifth wheel on the utilities. The site was slightly off level, but we did not need to use blocks. The gravel patio featured a huge wheelchair-accessible picnic table, fire pit with cooking grate, stand-up charcoal grill, wooden swing, and bench. We received one bar on Verizon and two bars on T-Mobile. There are mature trees around the seven pull-through sites across the road from the main campground, but Starlink should work in most of them if you're able to position the dish around the trees. For this overnight stay, we used our T-Mobile Home Internet, which averaged 358 Mbps download and 2.7 Mbps upload. The campground Wi-Fi was adequate for light browsing. A fenced dog park was conveniently located near our site, and being across the road from the main campground helped reduce interstate noise. Overall, this is a clean, well-run KOA with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, and a good overnight stop returning to our home base in southern Illinois to rest and dump tanks.

Easy access off Hwy 57 great rates quite sites near pond Great people Jasmine was especially efficient over the phone and even provided escort services to site on late arrival. Very welcoming and strong Internet clean sites beautiful!
