Just stayed for one night, heading south. This KOA Journey was very nice but we did not have time to enjoy all the wonderful amenities. The bathrooms & showers were great, clean, and spacious. Our pull-thru campsite (#202) was flat & level. Ray, our escort, cleaned the debris off the picnic table before leaving. Great service. Only minor complaints were the late night car noises (racing?) nearby.

Office area was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The grounds need attention. Most of the palm trees have dead branches hanging down, some of which impact camp sites. The Crest restaurant was awesome as always.

The swimming pool was just the right temperature for the day. The water level was about 4” low and needs attention as the filters were not getting any water to them. The restaurant had some excellent food and the waitress was very friendly.

We feel that we can always rely on all KOA campgrounds to be clean and friendly, with reliable level sites, but the Bakersfield KOA is especially great and we have stayed there several times. Everyone is always so kind and they have been a real port in a couple of life’s storms. It’s a very nice park and having the Crest Bar and Grill on site is also a super perk after a long day of driving.

Always a pleasure to stay at the Bakersfield KOA. It has a great little restaurant and our waitress (Now) was fantastic. Definitely will stay again!

The park is beautiful and well located between major freeways but not close enough for easy access. The on site restaurant had excellent food and servers. The only noise was from loud cars driving by outside the park. I will not hesitate to stay here again!

The facility and location were very good. It was close to amenities and the freeway. Our only issue was the laundry facility. It seems there may be a flea issue as we came away with numerous bites in the very short time we did a couple loads of laundry.

It was just a one night stay ~~~ been here before. Love the long sites and the Crest Grill and Bar. It is a great place to stay on our way down to the LA area !!!

There's not enough room to express my unhappiness with my stay here. So many rules that make no sense at all. My two sisters visited our campsite for maybe 2 hours before someone knocked on our door to tell us they needed to move their cars and check in at the office to PAY for parking! We had to take down our small dog fence everytime we went inside. Couldn't leave our outdoor mat on the ground.

The camper on my right had an Ebike stolen the 1st night I was there, then an e scooter stolen at the bathrooms the next day. The camper on my left had an e scooter stolen the next night. Puncture vines/goatheads in the grass in my site & those surrounding us. A mobile RV washer started a generator at 7 am. I won’t be staying there again.

Stolen Bike and other items. Two of the three families we traveled with had items stolen. The staff didn’t even apologize. Just said it’s been happening a lot and all we can do is file a police report. No EZ ups, and no pool towels hung outside allowed. Broken sprinklers got water all over our stuff at night. Will definitely never return to this campground.

A great place to stop when traveling. Wide avenues for scootering, clean and well-kept restrooms, nice pool area, good food at the restaurant. We will stop here again on our travels.

We had a very poor experience. This campground has potential but unfortunately the grounds keepers enjoy riding their golf carts more than they do fixing the place. Grass is dying and weeds are thriving. If you have dogs or kids beware of the numerous burrs and red ant colonies. But this place still holds firm on “no outdoor rugs or carpets” even though the “grass” was weeds and dirt.

-Middle of June with little shade & told we couldn’t have pop up tents. So we were forced to sit in our camper the entire time, b/c there was no shade over picnic table. -Told to take down TWO towels drying on the back of our camper, b/c they “have a full service laundromat” � -Went with a group and MULTIPLE things were stolen -Broken sprinklers flooded campsites We won’t be coming

Since taking over this rv park the restaurant has steadily gone down hill. The service is not as great as it was and the showers and bathrooms in park are not as kept up as well as before koa bought property.

6/2/25: Very friendly and helpful staff with check-in. 6/6/25: Rude during check-in. Tried to downgrade the reserved spot. When I told her no, she rudely said “I’ll let you keep the spot for tonight b/c I have enough of them, but in the future you could be downgraded if you RV isn’t 40 feet.” We are 37 feet with a tow car. Overall a okay visit. unfortunately my trailer lost power for a few minutes and shutdown the A/C for a period of time ... it was 99 degrees hot... Also the shower room had a loud noise that didn't stop; I couldn't get out of there fast enough...so annoying.

I fully enjoy the amenities of the bathrooms, showers, restaurant and store but check out is 11am and the restaurant doesn’t open until 11. How is anyone supposed to get breakfast before they leave? And the store isn’t open until 9:30am which is rather late as well for the store? Based on those two things I didn’t give a full score.

This is a huge rv park. Lots of amenities. The laundry room is like its own laundromat & the best I've seen at a KOA. Nice office. If you go for a back-in site you'll have more shade. Most of the pull-throughs don't offer much shade. Hookups worked properly. Picnic table. Sites are an alright size. This was an overnight stop so not sure on what you'd do in the area. And this is Bakersfield lol. There's a gate so it feels safe.

First impressions, this place is gorgeous! Very clean, all the grass is green and mowed. No weeds, lots of trees for a little shade. The manager was very nice and professional. We felt very relaxed at this place. I wish I could have stayed longer than one night. Not all KOA's are this nice, this one is a Gem. I will probably book her again when I travel rhis way home.
