The Bernacchi Family

A personal touch is very important, no matter what you are working with, you can't buy it and you can't bottle it.

New owners Rob and Tina Bernacchi were not expecting what they got when they bought their second KOA in Wendover. The couple lives in Arizona and runs their KOA and manages another in Nevada. They ran a resort in Colorado until they opted for a different lifestyle in Arizona. The change of weather and scenery were enough for Rob and Tina to realize they enjoyed the RV life and decided to make the investment.

The Wendover KOA has endured a harsh life, according to Tina, and the couple put in the effort to renew its reputation and fix the leaks and cracks in the physical facilities. As the cogs and wheels of the campground are polished, Rob and Tina are visiting the KOA once a month. "We are trying to fix it up-we are cleaning it and defining the sites," said Tina, "It has always had a lot of potential and there is nothing like customer service, friendliness, and cleanliness."

The campground is located on the Utah and Nevada state line and according to Rob and Tina, this is one of the only areas to see the curvature of the earth. It is surrounded by undeveloped BLM land, and the high desert supplies visitors with an area for bird watching. Wild horse herds also roam the area, and to catch a glimpse of them would alone make the trip worthwhile.

"We spend time talking to people and answering every question because we were in the resort business and we know that customer service is number one," said Tina. Tina added that they love to visit and spend time with their guests-something they were unable to do as much of in the large scale resort setting. "A personal touch is very important, no matter what you are working with, you can't buy it and you can't bottle it," said Tina.

Oh My, There's Nothing Here!

That doesn't mean this area has to always be empty. When you start reviewing camping options, your history will display here to help compare sites and find the best stay. You will be able to share your stay information with friends or family and save it for a later time if you have a KOA Account.
