Campground Reviews

Kids had fun at the playground, jump pad and pool. The piers were great. Couldn't rent water bikes and no employees were ever at the rental area. Front desk employee told another guest that it was due to wind - there was no wind or gusts. Weird. Cabin = clean. Comfort stations = clean. Political flags = negative stain. No hot water in cabin 1st night, fixed in the morning. Overpriced snack bar.

We thoroughly enjoyed being in a shaded area where everything in the KOA is within good walking distance. We were directed to a new site when ours was flooded, which was much appreciated! We also had a great time at the pool/splash pad, playgrounds, and walking along the dock/beach. Only issue was that we needed 2 gate keys. Thanks for all you're doing!

Absolutely beautiful campground! So much to do that we never left the campground except to bike.

We had a great time. Location is wonderful, campsite is clean and well maintained. One small comment... We couldn't check-in until 3:00 and didn't arrive until 4:00 (due to traffic delays) and made it to the park just in time before the office closed. Maybe allow check-in a little earlier, or keep the office open a little longer (6:00?).

This is a beautiful campground and very well managed. The swimming pool and the splash pad were fantastic! The pool café was amazingly good! We had a waterfront site so we enjoyed all of the beautiful sunsets. The only constructive criticism I have is that political flags and signage should not be allowed. A campground is not a place to display those things!

Love the location and the extra long pull through sites are great. We have stayed at Tall Pines a number of times and is one our favorite places. Staff is friendly and helpful.

We stayed there last year in the month of August and loved it so much we decided to come back this year. Our stay couldn’t have been any better. The staff and fellow campers were so friendly and polite. We brought our grandchildren and they were happy there was so much to do. Looking forward to to coming back. Thanks again

Staff was VERY friendly and helpful 5 star. Bathrooms & Location is great 5 star. However, our group of 22 stayed last year, same week, patios were weed free and they sprayed to help with mosquitoes. NOT this year! 2 star!! Made it look unkept, run down, disappointed

The stay was great started with a little electric problem but staff jump right on it and fix it. It’s a nice campground to relax and have fun at. Only other thing I see it didn’t have a was a small cafe for sandwiches and coffee. But I would recommend staying there.

Need to lower the sewer hookup. Bathroom and showers need work and were dirty. No quiet hours listed. Campsite near us had a bar people there and music playing until 12am.

Our only regret is not staying longer! Absolutely gorgeous water views. Park is clean and well maintained. Great pool and splash pad with the excellent snack bar/restaurant. See you next time!

Pros: The water view site was very nice. Both pools & bath houses were clean & enjoyable. Plenty of hot water in the showers! Excellent information from staff regarding Pony Week activities in Chincoteague. Cons: We had to ask for our site to be mowed. It would have been nice if the Snack Bar had longer hours (mornings & more available days), spotty WiFi was very inconvenient!

In town for the pony swim

Not that we were there for it, but the WiFi doesn’t work at all and our cabin didn’t have hot water! Other than that clean people are friendly! Wonderful camp ground!

Our cabin was great. Disappointed in the staff that checked us in. She was very negative about the reason for our visit- the pony swim- and actually talked at least two groups out of going with her negativity ( it was the reason they were there!) the “beach” leaves a lot to be desired. We did use the pool daily. Internet was worse than spotty. As a home base for the pony swim it was great.

We were very comfortable in our cabin as well as the rest of the camp.

Overall good Nice grounds and services Beautiful location Friendly staff! Thank you

Great campground! Only problem is the very spotty Internet access and no cable service for brainy days.

We arrived after hours so they had our information in the box outside the office. The location is beautiful with the view of the sound. The sunsets were awesome over the water. Our site was gravel but it was level. The site fit our motor home and F150 that we towed. We were only 25 minutes from Chincoteague wildlife refuge and beach. We will definitely go back!

Cabin was wonderful! Very relaxing few days! Staff was great.... very friendly and helpful! We will be back.A little upgrade to WiFi coverage would be nice. Check my FB post. BONNIE BALL-Doerfler.

Great staff, & loved accomdationw

Everything was great. Except for no wifi or TV. If you had tv and wifi it would be a 5.
Aug 02, 2025
The cabin we had was next to a stagnant drainage ditch filled with water, and there were a ton of mosquitoes. Accommodations were minimal in the cabin. I have to say it was one of the most uncomfortable stays I have had anywhere. The older cabins might be better, and the campground itself was nice.

We really loved the location but the lack of INTERNET service was not good! You need to provide this to your campers!! Many people, including ourselves, had some business items to attend to and we found that it was extremely frustrating to not be able to rely on an internet connection at our site. Also, you need to fill in the sites with stones to avoid major puddles when it rains!

Very disappointed. Poor communications on using the gate code, actually none at all until we went back to the office and asked. The mens room was extremely hot with no ventllation and the door would not close. The door was 1/4 inch larger then the jam. Needless to say things were buggy! tHE COST OF $100.00 A NIGHT TIS IS A RIP OFF.

We love the campground. Staff is friendly and very accommodating, the grounds are kept in immaculate condition, bathrooms are clean, and the facilities are A+.

My wife enjoyed talking with the two ladies, at the front desk and again at the snack bar. She wanted to let them know before we left, that she got my too dollars. We had lots of laughs.

Thanks for helping us upgrade to a cabin from a tent site in the crazy heat during our stay

We originally booked a tent site but it started torrential raining. We moved to an African safari tent and CANNOT RECOMMEND THEM ENOUGH. We had a blast!

We had a beautiful back in water front site! The campground is getting a much needed makeover (just became a KOA) and looks great!!!

The staff were very helpful thanks to Doug the maintenance guy and Barbara the first night for helping us upgrade from a tent site to a cabin that was available due to the heat. So grateful

This was our first KOA camping experience. We loved it.

Stay was good. Our site needs more stones as when it rained our site unlike the others in our area flooded with 3” deep water all around the camper. Also the site should be cleaned as where the fire pit is was about 50 cigarette butts. And the fire pit was so rusted the only about a 1/2 “ of the 12” depth ring was left.

Mosquito infested False Marketing - No rentals available all week. Waters calm as can be and employees say because of weather they aren't doing rentals. Food only available a couple days of the week, for specific hours. Beach snack shack never opens apparently. Incredibly rude staff. When asking questions we didn't receive answers. Just snarky remarks! - 2 cars should mean 2 gate passes

We are seasoned campers but we've never stayed at a KOA before. Overall, it was a very cool experience. The cabin was pretty clean and laid out well. I wish that there were fans available to rent or provided in the room because we roasted overnight. Zero airflow and it was very buggy. I would have brought my own fans had I realized this. Bathrooms also had zero airflow which was kind of gross.

Very enjoyable stay. We arrived and questioned about an upgrade site if available. There were several sites available and Barbara was excellent in getting us another location. The restaurant had great food. The entertainment was great on Saturday night. Great Place to Stay.

This was our first experience "Glamping". the cabin was amazing. why not a 5-star review? THE STAFF! When being escorted to our cabin the lady was going much faster than the 5.5 mph posted. My son was constantly being harassed & told to slow down on our RENTED cart, even with his parents there! It took me over 30 mins to purchase a shirt because she could not find the price sheet... price tags!

Cabin was nice and clean. Pool was fantastic!

Thank you for a wonderful stay with you all . Definitely going to do this again. Love the cabins so nice and comfortable. Love it

The experience from the week leading up to the moment we left was extremely disappointing. From not being able to reach the front desk with multiple attempts, HORRIBLE mosquitoes because of massive amounts of standing water all over the grounds, completely flooded site because the site couldn't handle a hard rain, and the staff knows about all the issues. Bathhouse was clean so I'll give 2 stars.

It was very nice! We enjoyed our cabin and the campground.

We stayed at site RF8, which is right across from the comfort station and basically a grass field with hooks up. The site was $44 /night for electric and water hook ups. I did not mind the “grass field” at all. We had a family in a tent next to us, a couple traveling in an SUV with a bed in it on the other side, and another couple in a smaller class B. For the price we paid, it was perfect, and it's nice to see the diversity of campers. The showers, which are located in the comfort station, are very clean. The shower heads did suck but otherwise the water is hot and the cleanliness is a big plus. It's not a far walk to the water and the dog park. It was still cold during our visit (end of March) so the pool wasn't open and couldn't get in the water at the beach. I can imagine this place is very lively during the summer. I think they have a lot of “permanent” residents but they keep their sites cute and clean so you don't really notice it. I loved seeing all of the families out and about and the kids playing. It seemed like the residents adhere to the quiet hours cause it was very lively until about 10pm and then it seemed to be quiet after that… meaning I was able to sleep without a bunch of noise keeping me awake. Barbara at the front desk was sweet and the check-in and check-out process was easy. They tell you when you check in that the wifi is spotty and that is the full truth. The wifi is terrible. We are new to RVing so we don't have Starlink or anything yet so with the little bit of cell service we had we were about to stream to our tv. The park is kind of in the “sticks” so cell service is touch and go as well. Conclusion, the park is adorable, the comfort station is very clean, the water is beautiful, and we enjoyed how family oriented it is.

We did another overnight stay in the 500s sites. Large pull through, plenty of room for 45' + toad. Check in quick and efficient, staff is 5 stars. Only wish that the Wifi worked.
