Campground Reviews

Very quiet. Some flies that bite.

The horrible WiFi was a huge issue! In 2026 reasonably functioning internet is a must. The bathroom by the snack bar is nice but the one by the rec center is not, buggy & dirty. The pool being closed for maintenance after Memorial Day seems poor planning. Quiet hour of 11pm is too late & many of the seasonal campers were very loud. And, the bugs (green head & house flies) were the last straw…

The campground is huge and beautiful on the bay. Sunset was lovely. We towed no car so being able to rent a golf cart was great. The office/store is only open till 5p and the horseflies and biting black flies were awful so be prepared.

Staff at check in great as usual, park staff not so much golf cart broke down twice

Besides the pool being closed our stay was great. It would have been nice to know in advance that the pool was closed but we made due at the beach. Maybe mark the broken stumps at the beach high tide covers some of them and the big rocks.

We loved our stay, staff and grounds were excellent. However, in this day and age, no wifi service is not acceptable. I do not believe the campground can not do better with this issue.

Wonderful stay! Staff were fantastic as usual. One of our favorite campgrounds. We were sad to see the swings were gone on the waterfront sites as well as the bridge from the waterfront sites to the beach. Too bad you couldn’t just move the bridge, it was very convenient and a nice prop for photos, especially at sunset.

Had a nice stay at Tall Pines. Restroom/bath area and store facilities were great. Helpful and courteous staff. The main pool was closed off, but they had a 2nd one. The main tent camping sites are in a wooded area, but they don't provide hardly any shade. My only real complaint is the number of bugs, including biting horseflies, that made even walking the grounds fairly miserable. Bring spray!

The facilities were all very nice. It's early in the season One pool is closed for construction or maintenance but looks like it will be excellent once completed. We had a site in a shady pull thru area. The sites are all big easy in easy out gravel and level. The only negative I can think of is that grocery stores and restaurants are twenty minutes or more away. Stop at wally world on the wa

The bad: ranger took his job way to serious he wasn’t making sure it was a safe fun vacation it was a push of power and no cell service at all. The good: NO cell service at all! The campground is very clean, quiet and peaceful. The sites are very spacious. I really enjoyed my stay and hope to come back once the pool is open.

This is one of the nicest KOA’s we’ve been to so far. There is a site to suit everyone, from waterfront to nestled in the pine trees. Kamp K-9 was in the shade, very nice! They have a playground, splash pool for the little ones and a regular pool for everyone else. They had activities planned for campers. The store is nice sized. It has camping needs, sundries & souvenirs. The staff very nice!

We would stay for longer if there was WIFI. As a result of our passing through every year we either stay at other parks or we stay for only a couple days instead of weeks.

Nice campground people very nice had a good stay. Says wifi is spotty! Not correct it did not work at all and very little cell service. Still a nice place to stay not being bothered by phone calls....

Cost wise, Nothing happening. Small camp spot we were given. View of the water from our camps pot was nice. Pool empty. No activities. Just a camp spot with alot of full time campers. For whats offered to expensive.

We have been staying for many years and always enjoy it. Cabin 3 really could use a new futon mattress. It is uncomfortable to sit on with springs poking thru, can't image anyone needing to sleep on it.

Too many dogs at campground. We enjoyed the Safari Tents and bathrooms were very clean. Expensive stay in Safari tent.

Loved this place! Enormous sites, level too. Great fun activities though my husband took me out to dinner in lieu of me entering the donut eating contest. Great kayak launch and the location on Pokomoke Sound is wonderful. Best KOA ever!

If i could make a suggestion it would be to put mosquito dunks in the still water to kill mosquito larvae. Ditchs and retention pond.

Great playgrounds for kids. Friendly staff. Clean. But too expensive, probably won’t do again.

Everything is perfect just one question you need Internet

Love this campground! The splash pad is great for kids and our family enjoyed bingo and the arts and crafts. Thank you for another enjoyable stay!

Facilities were decent. The pool was closed and it would have been nice to know that ahead of time.

From our check-in, the personnel at the front desk were wonderful. We had a rainy Memorial Day weekend, but the staff had everything running and open. The only thing I would say the checkout needs to change. You have too many campers pulling in to bring in their keys. I am sure I’m not the first person to give that suggestion. We will be back again , hopefully for better weather next time.

Very pleased with the cleanliness activities for the kids only complaint was the cabin next to me didn't keep their dogs on a leash and allowed their young children to drive around on their golf cart but overall very nice place

We are long time campers of Tall Pines. Prior to Sun buy out we were seasonal campers there. WiFi then was excellent, even allowing me to work remotely all the time. However since the buy out, the WiFi has been non existent. There is also no cell service which makes any communication impossible. So for our 3 night stay, we had no TV and no NetFlix or any streaming.Won’t be back til it returns

Stayed for a few days to get some quiet time. It was a great experience. Quiet and peaceful.

We had a great time at Tall Pines/Chesapeake Bay KOA. The view of the Bay from our water view camp site was beautiful.
May 24, 2026
Wifi is terrible.
May 22, 2026
The only downside is that the grass around our campsite was long. It needed to be mowed. Everything else was good. Very clean campground. Nice folks working there.

Nice campground very clean, unfortunately we started our stay in the middle of an end of May heat wave, too hot for any outdoor activities I guess it beat rain, still relaxing for few days. Warning don’t eat at Captain E’s, unless you enjoy 2” soft shells.

We had a great stay! The grounds were nice and clean and well laid out. The view of the Chesapeake is beautiful. Our only issues were the flies were terrible(we had our candles and fire lit most of the time) and the Internet was bad despite having a hotspot that never ended up working and an antenna we tried.

Checking was fabulous, staff courteous and professional, sites were very large and fairly level, clean restrooms. Very quiet while we were onsite, bigger problem were flys, made it difficult to sit outside. Did not participate in activities but they have a water park, 2 pools, bounce for kids, playground, sand pit and large pavilion. They music on the weekend. Snack bar run by Hurricane restauraT

We stayed at site RF8, which is right across from the comfort station and basically a grass field with hooks up. The site was $44 /night for electric and water hook ups. I did not mind the “grass field” at all. We had a family in a tent next to us, a couple traveling in an SUV with a bed in it on the other side, and another couple in a smaller class B. For the price we paid, it was perfect, and it's nice to see the diversity of campers. The showers, which are located in the comfort station, are very clean. The shower heads did suck but otherwise the water is hot and the cleanliness is a big plus. It's not a far walk to the water and the dog park. It was still cold during our visit (end of March) so the pool wasn't open and couldn't get in the water at the beach. I can imagine this place is very lively during the summer. I think they have a lot of “permanent” residents but they keep their sites cute and clean so you don't really notice it. I loved seeing all of the families out and about and the kids playing. It seemed like the residents adhere to the quiet hours cause it was very lively until about 10pm and then it seemed to be quiet after that… meaning I was able to sleep without a bunch of noise keeping me awake. Barbara at the front desk was sweet and the check-in and check-out process was easy. They tell you when you check in that the wifi is spotty and that is the full truth. The wifi is terrible. We are new to RVing so we don't have Starlink or anything yet so with the little bit of cell service we had we were about to stream to our tv. The park is kind of in the “sticks” so cell service is touch and go as well. Conclusion, the park is adorable, the comfort station is very clean, the water is beautiful, and we enjoyed how family oriented it is.

We did another overnight stay in the 500s sites. Large pull through, plenty of room for 45' + toad. Check in quick and efficient, staff is 5 stars. Only wish that the Wifi worked.
