Campground Reviews

The location of the camp ground was great! Staff were very friendly and professional. Only issue I have were the sand fleas (noseums) and mosquitoes were more than awful when the wind was not blowing. For any one wanting to stay on the grid, the cell and tv antenna reception was very sparse.

The campground was amazing. The cabin we had was beautiful, everything was clean and kept up on. The staff was so friendly and welcoming! Definitely coming back during peak season!

We love tall pines from the first time we stayed. We knew it was going to be a staple in our camping. Close enough to home for easy travel of less than 2 hours but far enough away to feel the weight of the world lifted. A recommendation if the fire pit is cleaned on the last day wait until we leave. We were trying to relax and it was not pleasant and that tractor so close it scared our doggies.

In fairness it was preseason, (April 2026), but the water coming from the Spicket at my camp site shouldn’t taste like rust.

My wife and I had a wonderful time. The facility was very clean and well organized. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Check in bldg was great, staff at the desk was friendly and had everything squared away as usual. Only complaint would be the directions to the site given to me had me pulling into a pull thru the wrong way with hook ups on the opposite side of the rig. Just had to back out of the site and do a loop thru the section to get back the right way. Wifi was non existent, which is why we have starlink.

Such a lovely campground- we had a great weekend! Being right on the water was so nice, even on these early Spring colder days. We will definitely be back!

Stay was fine. Just need to get some upgrades in the future. Internet was non existent. Food shack was awesome. Staff very friendly.

We were in site WV9 and had insufficient water pressure and was forced to switch over to our fresh water holding tank.

Wifi didnt work at our site, 510. Other than that, everything was great.

The only downside was the water pressure dropped way down each day, was not consistent. Otherwise everything went well. I enjoyed the candy bar bingo with the kids. Maybe you could do a beer bingo for the adults . I’ve heard of that at different campgrounds.

We had a long level pull through site and our Starlink worked great.

Great staff, clean grounds and nice amenities.

Awesome campground! Only thing you need is better cell and WiFi coverage. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again!

Everything was nice. The location, the staff at the office and very quiet and relaxing.

Reception in the office was indifferent and not helpful. However, there were other people the next day that were more than helpful and very pleasant!

Beautiful campground, well kept and very clean. Staff was wonderful to work with. If you’re down on the shore, prepare yourself for high wind.

The staff and events team provided a wonderful fun filled Easter weekend for everyone! We appreciated it all. It’s a beautiful spacious campground. I will join in with others and say that the WiFi is almost nonexistent.

My stay was just overnight but the campground was clean, had good water access and was scenic. Staff was friendly and inviting.

Always love staying at Tall Pines. Does seem like the campground is getting a little run down based on appearance with the grounds. Would like to see the gates back in operational order. It’s a nice piece of mind knowing people driving thru, belong in the campground. Other then that we had a great stay and will be back next year.

We really liked it at Tall Pines. Our site was level and very shady. Clean grounds, new pools and play area. Only down was WiFi was spotty and not strong enough. Otherwise. It was perfect. If ever in the area again, I would definitely stay.

We absolutely loved our easter stay at tall pines! They had plenty of events for the kids and adults and it's an absolute beautiful campground! We loved it so much we booked for the following year before our stay was even over!

We stayed at site WV05, great view of the bay and short walk to all the amenities. Grass and a paved site pad really helped with the kids not tracking dirt/sand into the camper. Beautiful campground!

No picnic table provided, essentially paid $82 to camp in the grass infront of a playground in an extremely overcrowded LOUD place where someone made off with my 2.5 gallon water jugs. Camping sure is evolving!!!

The campground was very clean and well cared for. The park and jumping pillow were great for the kids. Everyone was very kind. The only downside is the location. There is nothing around and you must travel to see local attractions. If you’re looking for a relaxing stay at the KOA this could be perfect for you, but if you want to do things in the surrounding area be prepared to drive.

Nice two days off the road!! Thanks!!

Our 3 day stay was very nice due to breezy weather. However if it were hot and humid I can see how mosquitoes and other bugs would flourish and ruin outside time. This would occur due to numerous drainage trenches of standing water throughout the property. WiFi was adequate near the sound. A small bridge leading to a beach was dilapidated and unusable. Cell service was virtually nonexistent

Stayed early in season. Was a great stay. Need to return when everything is up and running. Tons of amenities etc. only down side is the Wi-Fi nearly non existent.

Stayed in late March just after they opened for season so it was very quiet and lightly populated. Grounds and facilities look great. Staff was friendly and helpful. We will be back.

Had a great opening weekend. I wish they would bring Paint and sip back. I am looking forward to my stay this summer, I do have some concerns about the lack of beach area, hope that is being worked on!

It’s not our first time staying there but our first time staying in a cabin. The cabin was really nice and we’d do it again but we have no reception so that meant no television because you had to have WiFi and it sucked!! But like I said we would still camp there again!!

Although we visited off peak, this campground is amazing for the setting on the Chesapeake as well as the features it offers. I do think the resort fee should be waved when the amenities are not yet opened. The bathrooms are spacious and very clean and the sites are set so that there is space available around your belongings. That said, internet and cell service is poor.

we had all 4 seasons opening weekend overall it was great, WIFI needs improving

2nd time staying here and 1st time renting their onsite RV and it did not disappoint. The camper was perfect for my family and had zero problems with the camper. I have booked a cabin for August! Excellent campground! Worth the drive! Enjoy!

Wonderful, they treat me like family.

We stayed at site RF8, which is right across from the comfort station and basically a grass field with hooks up. The site was $44 /night for electric and water hook ups. I did not mind the “grass field” at all. We had a family in a tent next to us, a couple traveling in an SUV with a bed in it on the other side, and another couple in a smaller class B. For the price we paid, it was perfect, and it's nice to see the diversity of campers. The showers, which are located in the comfort station, are very clean. The shower heads did suck but otherwise the water is hot and the cleanliness is a big plus. It's not a far walk to the water and the dog park. It was still cold during our visit (end of March) so the pool wasn't open and couldn't get in the water at the beach. I can imagine this place is very lively during the summer. I think they have a lot of “permanent” residents but they keep their sites cute and clean so you don't really notice it. I loved seeing all of the families out and about and the kids playing. It seemed like the residents adhere to the quiet hours cause it was very lively until about 10pm and then it seemed to be quiet after that… meaning I was able to sleep without a bunch of noise keeping me awake. Barbara at the front desk was sweet and the check-in and check-out process was easy. They tell you when you check in that the wifi is spotty and that is the full truth. The wifi is terrible. We are new to RVing so we don't have Starlink or anything yet so with the little bit of cell service we had we were about to stream to our tv. The park is kind of in the “sticks” so cell service is touch and go as well. Conclusion, the park is adorable, the comfort station is very clean, the water is beautiful, and we enjoyed how family oriented it is.

We did another overnight stay in the 500s sites. Large pull through, plenty of room for 45' + toad. Check in quick and efficient, staff is 5 stars. Only wish that the Wifi worked.
