Great park! Very clean and easy to get in and out of. Loved the covered wagon theme cabins and atmosphere in the park. Everyone was very friendly. Would stay here again.

Outstanding KOA - Journey. Helpful and courteous staff. We had to stay an extra day due to windy conditions on Interstate 90; they were very accommodating. RV sites are spacious compared to other KOAs, in which we stayed (Billings). Excellent communication between staff and camp occupants.

Our 1-night stay at Buffalo KOA Journey in mid-June 2026 was very nice. An issue with our camper resulted in a 10-hour delay in our arrival. Liz was very nice and assured us an after-hours arrival would be no problem, which helped make a bad day much better. We met her in the morning and were glad we got to thank this very nice lady in person. The property is beautiful and nicely maintained.

Excellent welcome from the staff when we arrived. Very accommodating and gave us a very nice site. I also liked all of the text messages they sent regarding things to do and discounts to stay longer.

Liked the ability to be able to call in late and get a spot with traveling down to Colorado looking iffy with the winds across the hwy. Good clean facility.

Did stay for only one night, but seemed to be a perfectly fine campground. We were in the obviously new area in the South end and were happy that the sites are sunken below the main road as that greatly helped when a 65mph wind storm came through. Near town, the highway, and easy to get to.

Beautiful park that is going the wrong way. Lots of maintenance issues, such as dead trees, potholes, drainage issues, and it needs a lot of new gravel, etc. It's an amazing location and a beautiful site, but it feels like KOA needs to make some serious investment. The staff is super helpful and friendly, and the area is gorgeous!

Everyone was very cordial and helpful when we checked in. They had a gentleman that escorted us to our campsite and made sure that we got placed and everything worked. He was great! Campground is laid out very well, everything is clean and tidy. Restrooms, showers and laundry facility are clean, well lit and stocked. We have stayed there before and will again.

Had to switch us to a “deluxe” site. Apparently a newer section. No shade. Very close to the intestate. Site pad was sandy dirt with a touch of gravel. Why these facilities don’t use coarse aggregate instead if river gravel for pads and roads. It stays where you put it and water drains through. Nice staff and easy check in. Would not stay in these sites again.

We had planned to drive further the night we stayed with you (6/20/26) but we were tired and decided to stop. Thankfully you had a spot for us. We had a nice relaxing stay and were on the road on schedule.

The park was really nice. Staff very friendly. Only two things that kept us from giving full stars; the big rocks at the corners of the sites that make it somewhat challenging to get in and out, and the freeway noise. But the noise didn’t keep us from sleeping well and the park can’t do anything about it. We would stay again. We really appreciate the excellent signage that KOA camps have.

We really enjoyed it here. This was our first ever KOA experience and it was perfect! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only downside was that the bbq grills were in poor condition. Those need to be fixed asap! Otherwise, it was great and we look forward to returning.

Nice place. Didn’t try to upsell you in every little thing like most KOA’s do and they honored their website that said up to six people. Initially they had charged me for extra people. When we asked about it they refunded the difference. This is the classic KOA scam but this campground was honest and fair about it and that was appreciated.

It was a perfect place for our one night stay heading to Yellowstone. The staff was super friendly. Our escort to our site checked to make sure we were settled and verified that we had everything we needed. They also recommended the near by walking path that we took advantage of after a long day driving. The bathrooms were super clean. The only negative was that some sites had large mud puddles.

This KOA is maintained wonderfully, down To every detail! Perfect stay for us on our way to Mount Rushmore from Yellowstone. We stayed in a wagon. I can't say enough how enjoyable this was! And private bathroom/shower.

We arrived for a one night stay, didn't want to put the tent up and they had a cabin available. It was so clean and seemed brand new! We made a campfire, ordered takeout that night and also cooked smores. Beds and linens were great. The pool had been closed by lightning to the disappointment of my kids, but the manager left it open an hour past normal after they were cleared to reopen so the kids could get worn out. There was a bluegrass band playing in the evening, the facilities were clean, and laundry room worked well. We made breakfast and enjoyed the complimentary coffee with the k-cups in the cabin. Excellent stop on the road.

Staff were phenomenal! Elizabeth at the front desk was joy! So nice and explained everything. Our escort was great! Had lots of recommendations and brought me a small birthday gift when he found out it was my birthday. Very clean, camp store stocked, pool was amazing, quiet, and value for your dollar. I cannot recommend this place enough!!!
