Day 5: Experience the Area's History

Take a trip back in time and visit Fort Phil Kearney and Little Bighorn Battlefield. Take a walk through the grounds at Fort Phil Kearney — a U.S. Army outpost along the Bozeman Trail — to see what life was like in the late 1860s.

Little Bighorn Battlefield is a somber memorial of the battle between the U.S. Army's 7th Calvary and the Lakota and Cheyenne tribes. The Brinton Museum is another can't-miss location for history buffs and art enthusiasts as well.
