If laying by the pool isn't your thing, make sure to hike/walk or take a short golf cart ride to Broad River, known for its gentle flowing waters, The Broad River Greenway hosts a beach area for play and swimming. Life jackets are provided and recommended to those swimming. If you'd rather sit on the big rock, listen to music and watch the sunset, we can make that happen too!

Gaga Ball is a fast paced, high energy sport played in an octagonal pit. The more players the better! Played with a soft foam ball, gaga game combines the skills of dodging, striking, running, and jumping, while trying to hit opponents with a ball below the knees.

Need to let the kids burn off some energy? Take them to the central part of the park and let them enjoy the custom-built playground area and an intense game of Gaga Ball with all their friends. After hours of playing, toss them in the bath house, and get them ready for dinner!

Gem Mining

Try your luck at finding precious gems or even an Indian arrowhead! Shelby/Broad River KOA's custom-built gem mine will provide an experience like no other. Grab your gem mining bucket from the camp store and head over to the mine to see what you can find! Make sure to save them to show all your friends!

Shelby/Broad River KOA hosts many themed weekends starting Easter weekend all the way to Halloween. We offer a wide variety ranging from cooking contests, jeep fest, July 4th celebrations, Camp-O-Ween to charity events raising money for trusted organizations. If you're looking for nature trail hike that will get your blood pumping but not leave you contemplating your life, then this is the trail for you! 1.5 miles hiking trail through the property shows you the beautiful landscape of the creek, along with exploring the Broad River. Don't worry, we have plenty of rest areas along the way. Legend has it, you may encounter Bigfoot!
