45th Infantry Museum

Children's Museum

Children's Museum

Children can be a judge, an artist, a fireman, or anything they want to be when you visit Mabee's KidTown, U.S.A. Every child counts, no matter what age. Open hours are Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Museum is closed Mondays, major holidays and the first two weeks in January. The first floor of the round Barn has a gift shop where mementos of the Round Barn and Route 66 are sold. Pictorial displays of the early days in Arcadia, and steps of the reconstruction of the Round Barn are located here. The second floor is a reception hall that offers a rustic setting of real beauty for weddings, birthdays, business meetings, church and school gatherings. National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum

The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum  features an internationally-renowned collection of Western art and artifacts.  This unique institution has been welcoming millions of visitors from around the world since its opening in 1955.  From fine art, pop culture and Native American objects to historical cowboy gear and halls of fame, the figure of the cowboy tells America's Western story here. Begin and end your visit at James Earle Fraser's awe-inspiring sculpture "The End of the Trail," depicting a lone Native American on a weary horse. Move on to permanent galleries at the museum, including the American Cowboy, American Rodeo, Art of the American West and many other fascinating displays.  Prosperity Junction is a fully constructed frontier cattle town with 19 buildings is an immersive exhibit. The town includes an industrial section with a railroad depot, livery stable and blacksmith shop, to a residential section with homes, a church and a one-room schoolhouse. From a playground and interactive wagon to a Pueblo Cliff Dwelling and Kiowa tipi, bring the family to experience Western culture with engaging activities that bring history to life.
