The 2020 Nashville Tornado at the Nashville East KOA

It was a normal Sunday afternoon in Middle-Tennessee on March 2, 2020. Campers at the Nashville East / Lebanon KOA were sound asleep when they got emergency alerts to take shelter. As campers were able to make it to the bathhouse for safety, they heard what sounded like a freight train storm through the campground. The EF4 tornado with 175 MPH winds gusts left a devastating path of destruction. Thankfully, no one in the campground was injured but large trees and debris did their fare share of damage. With the help of our amazing KOA staff and some emergency relief teams, we were able to get things cleaned up in the matter of weeks. While the campground is not completely back to normal yet, we are working to get ready for an amazing 2020 season.
