We love the Toomsuba Koa!! It's such a great spot for a quiet camping trip with a nice pool!

Very nicely maintained place, very quiet and peaceful yet not far from the interstate. Very friendly and helpful staff. I just wish I could have stayed longer!

Good staff, decent place to stay. Poison oak near tent site needs to be removed.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you for the heads-up on the poison. We will get it taken care of.

The group tent site was definitely not really taken care of. Had chunks of concrete throughout it. Not really a big flat area for a large group. We made it work. We got in after hours of course. Asked about some fire wood with a response that said. The camp store will be back open in the morning. We where only staying one night and where on motorcycles. Will definitely find another place

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

You were advised before your arrival that it would be a tight fit for your large group. You assured us that it would be ok. We send emails and texts about store hours. We did inspect the site and found a few rocks. We apologize that your stay was not as you hoped.

We arrived at 8pm; stopped at the restroom to freshen up before heading to our campsite. We only pulled in, slept and were gone early the next morning. The dog park is nice; the grounds are well maintained and the restrooms were good. All in all a good experience.

The facility’s restrooms were extremely dirty, and not up to par with other KOAs we’ve stayed at. Other campers were extremely loud, and shined their vehicle lights straight into our site for hours in the middle of the night. There’s a recycling center that’s God awfully loud directly next to the KOA, so if a peaceful camp is what you want, you won’t get it here. Area is very rough.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

You must have our restrooms confused with another KOA. Ours are daily cleaned and sanitized. You did mention to me the next morning that you got in very late and that one camper turned his headlights on and slammed his door a few times. I know it is hard to drown out all noise while tent camping.

Really lovely campground, felt like a state park. I chose the cheapest spot, a back in tent spot, not a smart move for a 24’ motor home! I managed but it was a bit of trick. I would definitely stay again, nice wooded sites, not all lined up like a parking lot.

It was great! Wish we could have stayed longer.

We checked in late and the after hours process was easy. Our site was clean and quiet. The bathrooms were immaculate. It was a great stay on our drive across country for Thanksgiving. We would definitely stay at this site again.

We showed up late and it was pitch black. Somehow the site let us book a tent site that was tucked in between two small cabins and on the side of a hill surrounded it. For the size of our vehicle and the coordination in the dark this was not a typical back in site off the main road. It was pretty frustrating given how many other open sites you had. We left and camped at Rest stop. Frustrating

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are so sorry to hear of this for the first time as a review. We have after-hours numbers everywhere for this reason. The empty sites you saw were full hookup and that is not what you reserved. We would have been happy to accommodate better had we known.

Quiet and relaxing tent site. Only downside was the site was between 2 cabins. But since they were unoccupied it didn't matter.

The best maintained KOA I have ever stayed at. The grounds were immaculate. The pool was in pristine condition.(Even in March) There was even sand toys out for the kids. I absolutely enjoyed my stay here.

Staff was friendly. Sites not paved & very un-level. Tent areas too far from the bathroom. Our tent site was down below another site so that the people in that site are looking down at us. (Other spaces available, but it was the one given to someone AFTER we got there and unloaded.) Our site had no level ground to put tent up. Not at all what we’ve come to expect from KOA! Wasted our $50 reward

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

I am so sorry to hear that you weren't satisfied with your site. The tent site is 66 yards from the bathrooms. Our RV sites are some gravel and some concrete. All of our tent sites are gravel and grass.

It is very easy to drive your rig in this park. I have read some reviews where people talk about the drive into the part as being horrible. When you leave I 20, you drive down a county road. It is the typical width of a county road. So just slow down and it is no problem. We drive a 44' fifth wheel with a dually truck. Some sites have concrete (not in the best shape) and some have gravel pads. There are many trees but the park keeps them trim away from the roads. It was great to have shade. There is full hookup pull thru sites along with some back in sites. There are plenty of areas to walk your dogs along with a nice enclosed dog park. There are many activities for children – a large sandbox, pool, a water slide, playground, tether ball and a game room. This park is about 2 miles off I 20. It is very quiet. There are a few long timers but primary people stopping for one night Each night it is full and then empty by noon the next day. We were there for several months and paid $525 for the month. This included electricity. When we originally arrived, our plan was to stay one month to visit family. But due to some health issues with ourselves and our family, we ended up staying for over 6 months. The best part of this park is the staff. Each staff is friendly, welcoming and will do anything possible to make our staff so wonderful. The staff take meticulous care of the park including picking up daily all the cigarette butts that people think they can just leave on the ground. Due to their service, they get a lot of repeat customer visits.
