Summer Fun in Grand Lake

Now that Summer is official here check out our top five favorite pastimes in the Summer sun!

1. Camping - We know we're biased, but nothing beats s'mores around the campfire on a cool Summer evening in Grand Lake!

2. Lake Time - There are endless way to enjoy all that water in the Grand Lake area. Whether it be paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing, boating, or, if you're really brave, swimming, you can do it all in Grand Lake! There are lots of great spots to rent equipment as well if you don't have space in the camper. To start, check out the Grand Lake Marina for more information!

3. Hiking - Go explore one of the area's endless hiking trails! Not only do we have Rocky Mountain National Park in our backyard, we have countless beautiful trails throughout the Arapaho National Recreation Area. A staff favorite is Monarch Lake down by Arapaho Bay Campground. It's a gorgeous 4 mile loop that doesn't require timed-entry as it is outside the national park and it's dog friendly. What more could you want? Staff tip - Get started on your hike early! An early start will help you avoid the summer heat and give you more chances to see some wildlife. You might even get the trail all to yourself while everyone else is still waking up!

4. Live Entertainment - Grand Lake offers lots of opportunities to enjoy live entertainment! Restaurants like Charlie's Sports Bar & Grill Wild Bear Tavern provide live music on the weekends. Give them a call to get specific times and dates for events! We are also home to the renowned Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre, which hosts all sorts of fun shows throughout the Summer. Another great way to enjoy some music is to go to the Grand Lake Town Park on Wednesday evenings, from 5 - 7 pm, from July 3 - September 4 for some free live music. Don't forget the Grand Lake Folk Festival on July 13th either!

5. Games - Ready to break out your competitive spirit with friends and family? Go play a game! Grand Lake offers the opportunity to play three different types of golf with disc golf, mini golf, and plain old regular golf. Not in the mood for golf? Go upstairs at White Buffalo Pub and Pizza Company and kill some time on their arcade games. You can also enjoy some classic bingo with the Rotary Club of Grand Lake at the Town Park every Friday and Saturday night at 7:30 p.m.
