Discover the Garden of the Gods Park which is a designated National Landmark in Colorado Springs. The beautiful geological rock formations of the park are visible as you drive along the western side of Colorado Springs. The rock formations throughout the park are tall, rugged, and slanted. "Balanced Rock", at the south end of the Park, was formed as erosive processes removed the softer layers near its base, eventually leaving the "balanced" rock formation.
