I booked through the KOA app on my phone. There was NOTHING about “NO SLEEPING IN YOUR VEHICLE” in their description of their tent sites (which are ugly and uninviting). To check in you MUST GO INTO THE BAR/TAVERN. The check in person is the bartender (we checked in after 5). You share bathroom/shower area WITH BAR PATRONS. Entire campground had a very unwelcoming feel. Will NOT stay here agai

As a tent camper, there was zero privacy. It was difficult to sleep with RV campers arriving late and driving over the rocky roads headlights shining. The proximity to the railroad tracks with trains passing all night with blaring horns added to the difficulty of sleeping. Tent sites were located far from the bathrooms. As a tent camper I will not return. The woman who checked me in was nice.

The tent sites were unlike any I’ve ever stayed at, just a very small square of mulch. It was very windy but under the mulch was impenetrable to stake the tent down. It was really the only campground in the area what even had tent sites but given the high price, we wish we’d just stayed at a hotel. The worst part was the bathroom was shared with the bar so it was very uncomfortable.

The tent camping was really strange. Sleeping on a bed of broken down tire parts that off-gas in the heat and cigarette butts, for as much as you charge, felt like I was paying to sleep on a trash heap, never mind the security lights from the business next door.... I can see being in an RV at this location, but I'll never tent camp here again.

more expensive than the KOA in Salt lake City Utah. and there were rv spots left empty. we had no grass no table far from the rest room. no wifi at out tent site.. no access to the laundry b4 6am. no 10% off like at the KOA in Salt Lake.

Not the place to go if you are tent camping. Terrible pads. Extremely small. Smashed over into a corner of the property. ZERO grass. In all fairness, they probably do not have a lot of demand for tent spots here. The RV spots all looked very nice.

The tent set up area consisted of mulch, on top of sharp rocks, on top of gravel. incredibly difficult to nail in any type of stakes. The shelves were bare except maybe 4-5 random items. It also presented as more of a bar than what I'm used to at a KOA.

This site is unsuitable for tents. Clearly a few token tent sites were added in a gravel parking lot, no shade, no windbreak. Tent stakes are useless, they provide eye bolts to tie a tent down. Probably a fine stop for an RV. If you have a tent, keep driving.

Terrible for tents!!!! Gravel, no trash cans, rubber pieces surface for tent that heats up with the sun. The tent sites are very close to each other. But the RV sites have space and green grass and a tree. The tent spots need to be redone or reduced to $20 a night.

Honestly you should enhance your check in and tent experience. Took about 20 minutes to finally have someone at the reception. Tent site doesn’t even have a table for $47/night …

Camp manager went above and beyond. He assisted me setting up my tent, made me feel welcome, as well as telling me about all the site facilities.

Our first stay at a KOA campground. We loved it!!! So clean and easy to set up everything!! Everyone so friendly and helpful!! We will definitely be back!!

Recommend Elko KOA to anyone staying in an RV, but not a tent. The tent sites have no shade, no grass, and the ground was an RV site so it is too hard to put in tent stakes. Move the tent sites to where the playground is so tenter's have closer access to the restrooms, grass and shade. Move the playground to where the horseshoe pits are. Otherwise, nice place to stay.

Office staff very helpful when checking in, helping us to find the proper tent area to set up. The ground covering was nice to set up on and even had eye hooks in the landscape timbers to fasten fly/tent in when the wind stirs up. Served our purpose just fine. Everything clean!

Nice clean bathrooms but no fire pits and it’s right by the train tracks and the freeway so it’s so loud. No one got sleep. All night long you hear the train horn and trucks.

I was on a 10 day camping motorcycle. The facility was a great experience compared to other non KOA sites that I stayed at. Elko laundry, and especially the showers were extremely convenient and very clean.

I reserved a tent spot for $54(!!!) and was told that I had to sleep in a tent - no sleeping in cars was allowed. I arrived during a wind storm only to find that the tent pads were road base material covered in chips making it impossible to drive tent stakes in the ground. I had no other choice but to "sleep" in my car and with 2 dogs in a crate, this meant "sleeping" sitting up in the front seat.

The spot had no shade, no picnic table, no fire pit, no room beyond the footprint of the tent. We asked for our money back since the site was not acceptable. The manager was contacted and refused to refund the money. We left without staying.

We had a tent site they offer no picnic tables we were told we could just sit in our tent. The registration area is very unwelcoming they are in the bar and you have to wait till they come out to help you. I am very disappointed with how the KOA is run now. They are not very welcoming to tent campers

Would not recommend for tent camping. Super small site (we actually had to set part of camp up in the parking area). No table. Very expensive for what it was.

Arrived before 5pm to check in (I had prepaid for a 7/4 reservation); waited a bit for receptionist to come from direction of bar area. Biggest disappointment: WIFI not working. Tent site small; no table or fire pit -- okay for me, but may not work for others. Bar/grill closed early, around 5 (albeit due to staff going to fireworks).

The usual KOA amenities are fine (shower, nice quite people, etc), but the tent spaces are the worst I have ever stayed in. Even worse than Las Cruces. They are small rectangles of gravel and mulch. There is no space or separation from the other tent spaces. You could easily be driven over. Is the goal to create the detention center atmosphere? Take a look at Rawlins or Austin.

The facility was clean and the staff friendly. It is not the place to tent camp. No grass. No shade. No place to set up to cook or relax. Camp spots are literally a tent wide and a tent deep with no space between spots. The tent location was in the middle of a parking lot. The entire location is gravel so it's dusty. I'm not sure I would stay there in an RV.

Tent ground site had too much rubber & not enough softer cushion. Also, parking for our tent site was not next to the tent site.

There was no picnic table area for tent campers. Space was tight, with driveways directly on each side of the tent (loud when campers drive by on the gravel in big rigs right by your head!) Not a place to be if you require Wi-Fi and don't have your own set-up--the Wi-Fi here is abysmal. On the upside: the owners were very pleasant, and the facility was CLEAN! Thank you.
