Campground Reviews

Your KOA doesn’t live up to the standards of the other KOAs cabins we stayed at, not by a long shot. I left a list of how you can improve it when we left. For starters fix the septic smell from the drains. If you advertise cable and Wi-Fi be sure they work. Have the cabin professionally cleaned. Replace all of the blinds and slider blind. Replace mattress covers and old futon.

Very clean and quit place

All was great. You can tell the kamoground was built before slide-outs, so tight. Great for overnight stop, and many of the folks we talked to were there for several nights exploring the area

Great staff! Very friendly campground. We met so many nice people from all over the country. Our site was very nice and relaxing. We are looking forward to returning next year. Thanks so much!

I only was there to stay the night to be able to drop off my RV at Coachman for some warranty work, but my stay was good, the people were great and the Kamp ground was clean and kept up. There was things there to do as well, nice pool, mini golf course, gold mining, ect for family fun.

We had a great stay with visits to nearby Essenhaus and RV Hall of Fame Museum. The site was spacious and clean.

The grounds were pretty decent. The fishing pond needed some weeding around it done. The cabin looked like it hadn’t had a decent cleaning in a while and it was maybe “gone over” in anticipation of our arrival. The campground did not honor our KOA rewards for a free night stay 9/8 as their site states. First I was told that’s only for RV sites, then I was told they are not participating in

Very uneventful stay, (like we like it), sites were spacious. Office staff was very helpful. close to downtown area and easily accessible to the surrounding communities. A definite place to stay.

Friendly staff Nice campground. The full hook-up sites were a bit small but worked out fine as a home base for visiting Shipshewana.

Nice location, convenient, nice pool, nice office staff. Dumpster and storage area could be cleaned up and manicure a little bit better. I sore as you pull in KOA.

This was our first camp out with our new camper. We enjoyed our time with our daughter ( on another camp site in the park). The park was clean. Bathrooms and showers were clean. I thought it was strange to need a code to use the bathroom and inconvenient for those who can't "hold it". The park staff were wonderful. Can't wait to come back next Spring.

Called from the road and they said come on in we have room for you. When we got there everyone was helpful. What I saw was neat clean and presentable. We only stayed one night but it was a good experience wish they were closer to CT so we could go more often.

Convenient location when traveling on the Ohio Turnpike. This KOA is fine for a quick overnight stay but I wouldn’t want to spend more than one night here, especially when it’s crowded. Sites are very close together, fire rings are a few feet off the road.

Friendly customer service. Sites are what you would expect from a KOA. Sites are a good size. My only issue was the hornets nest directly above our travel. I didn’t bother them and they didn’t bother me.

Staff was friendly. The cabin we stayed in is dated, could use some repairs and the bed was noisy and sunk in the middle. TV was not connected to cable. Honestly, I'd probably would not return to stay at a cabin again. However, I would stay if we return with a RV.

The campground is clean, had a nice pool, fishing pond and the staff is friendly. The spots are small, side to side. The camper next to us had slides and there was only about 8 feet between our campers. We prefer to not be so close.

Very nice. Love the wooded areas and level sites. Hearing the Amish buggy's come by later in the day is a delightful experience. The close proximity to the town and markets of Shipshewana and the Motorhome RV Hall of Fame is great.

This is a beautiful RV campground with lots of trees and activities for young and older guests. We were most impressed by the lady who checked us in. We had accidentally clipped a parked car with our van. She was so gracious, kind and supportive, going out of her way to check on us to make sure we were comfortable and welcome.

Very nice, clean and well managed. Very friendly staff. Nice lots. Only problem was most traffic doesn't follow 5mph.speed limit.

Unhappy about the septic truck in the way during 3lm check in time. Unfortunately our RV got scratches from trying to get around it. They were there for around 40 minutes. Other then that we enjoyed ourselves. Pool and restrooms clean. Plenty of activities for the kids.

A great time as usual, the workers are so friendly. I really like how they try to accommodate when things change. We played bingo was fun but they could use some new cards most the slides did not move and missing numbers on some . See you all next year Thanks for all you do :)

We had such a great time we've decided to make it an annual stay!

Site 38 has hornets nest in tree above the site. If I need to get on my roof for something and didn't know about the nest I would be dead as im deadly allergic to bees.

Very very very small sites. One vehicle per site means one vehicle per site, although we couldn’t even park our own truck at our camp site - and we only have a 32’ camper. Super small fire pits. Mossy/dirty pond.

This KOA campground in Indiana was a lovely surprise on what could have otherwise been a disappointing spring break. After our initial plans to head south and Camp with another family were cancelled due to severe thunderstorms, we looked into what else was open for camping closer to the great lakes area, and found this campground. A couple calls later and we were all set and arrived and I have a hard time putting into words how wonderful the staff is. They're genuinely friendly and very helpful! Fortunately the campground was nearly empty and we were able to get two nice sites together so we could be next to our camping friends and we all had a great time. While tent camping would probably be OK too, our small travel trailer was perfect. There were some HUGE travel trailers there, quite possibly the biggest I've seen. But there are a lot of pull-through sites to accommode that and all the sites have a mostly-level drive. There are cabins too but we didn't look into the details of those. The kids enjoyed riding bikes up and down the camp road, and there was a little pond which offered license-free catch-and-release fishing. I was not prepared for this (and even more surprised when my son said he wanted to put down his electronics and go fishing with his friends!) so I had to drive a few miles into town and buy a rod and hooks and worms at a local sports shop. My son even caught his first fish! And our friends daughter stayed occupied catching garter snakes. Not that I'm a huge outdoorsman, but it was a very nice parent moment to see all the kids off their electronics participating in nature. There's restaurants and a great donut shop nearby and lots of horse and buggy traffic from the local Amish population. This was nice as it gave us a chance not to gawk, but rather to discuss with our children about different lifestyle choices and possible rewards/challenges associated with that, and hopefully instilled some acceptance of other people's choices. There are a couple nice hiking trails on the campground as well. They're perfect for just taking a stroll through the woods with one little hill to contend with, and a little minigolf course for the kiddos to play on a bit. There is also a fenced in dog run for Fido to do his business off-leash, just please pick up after your pet. I cleaned a lot of old dog-logs just so I/my dog didn't step in it, and was rather irritated that dog owners wouldnt have done that themselves. I imagine in high summer when the campground is packed, it might not be as ideal for a quiet camping trip, but that also opens up more chance for social interaction and those quirky little temporary camp friendships that kids are so adept at creating, so I bet it'd still be fun, just in a different way. Overall I recommend this KOA (more than any other KOA or certain picnic basket stealing bear campgrounds I've been to in the past!), and will likely return, even if theres no other cancelation to drive the necessity. It was just a good time.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful campground, and couldn't be more thrilled with our experience! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the warm and welcoming staff who went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. One of the highlights of our trip was the spacious dog park. It was great to find a campground that truly values its four-legged guests. For families with children, this campground is an absolute dream. The variety of activities available can keep kids entertained for hours. The campground was well-maintained, our pull thru site was level and clean. Overall, our experience at this campground exceeded our expectations. A huge thank you to the staff for their hospitality and for providing such a fantastic environment for families and pets alike!
