Beach Day Tips for You & Your Pup:
Before you head out, be sure to pack the essentials:

  • Fresh water to keep both of you hydrated under the Florida sun

  • Poop bags to help keep our beaches clean

  • A towel and maybe a chair or blanket for your own comfort

  • Follow posted leash rules and always clean up after your dog to ensure these spots stay pet-friendly

Top Dog-Friendly Beach Spots to Explore Nearby:

Fort De Soto Dog Beach & Paw PlaygroundA local favorite!
Located at the southern tip of Pinellas County, Fort De Soto offers a dedicated off-leash dog beach where your pup can run, splash, and play. There are even separate areas for small and large dogs, plus rinsing stations and shaded spots.

Honeymoon Island State Park (Dog Beach)Right here in Clearwater!
This scenic state park features a designated dog beach on the southern end, where leashed dogs are welcome to enjoy the surf. Rinse stations are available in the parking lot to clean up after your day in the sand.

Fred Howard Park (Dog Area)Just north of Sunset Beach
While not a full dog beach, Fred Howard Park has a designated area near the causeway where you can take your dog for a beachside stroll with great views.
