Welcome!
Weekend getaway or family vacation - Higgins Lake KOA captures it all!
Imagine, if you will, the crystal clear waters and golden sandy beaches of Higgins Lake, voted National Geographic’s sixth most beautiful lake in the world! This 10,000 acre lake offers excellent swimming with its shallow sandy shores, and distinctive drop-offs for a snorkeler's dream come true. Early morning anglers can enjoy fishing for perch, walleye, small mouth bass and much more. Boating enthusiasts can enjoy a day full of tubing, skiing or cruising the beautiful shorelines. But after a busy day by the lake, Higgins Lake KOA takes over. Don’t feel like cooking, the campground store offers pizza. Join us for breakfast from the grill (weekends and holidays in season). Complete your evening with an ice cream sundae or a float, and a movie on our big outdoor screen. Kids can enjoy the Bouncy Castle, playground equipment, rock climbing wall, and monkey jumpers! Daily arts and crafts are available in season. Hiking trails throughout the wooded campground can be a place to get close to nature. The Au Sable River offers lazy canoe rides and awesome fly fishing for every level of experience. Enjoy the beauty of Michigan’s Mackinaw Bridge and Mackinaw Island - a fun day trip for everyone. If shopping is something you enjoy, try the Tanger Outlet at West Branch. Feeling lucky, casinos can be found in St Ignace, and Traverse City.
