3 Days in Palmer, Alaska: Itinerary Ideas from Your KOA Host

The following is a sample itinerary to help you get started with your trip planning:

  • Day 1: Check out the reindeer farm with the family then head to Matanuska Glacier for the jaw-dropping views and flowing glacial rivers.

  • Day 2: Spend the day at Hatchers Pass exploring the mountains and enjoying the wildlife. Independence Mine is a must-see. It's a state historical park that the whole family will enjoy. Take a hike! There are more than 2000 miles of trails to choose from. 

  • Day 3: Take an ATV ride to Knik Glacier. This is a full-day adventure (6-8 hours). This adventure will show you Alaska’s beauty that few get to experience.

Tips for the Road:  

For those who made the great trek to Alaska in their RV and maybe had a hiccup along the way, Palmer KOA is located near RV dealerships and RV repair shops.
