The Longleaf Trace is South Mississippi’s premier running, biking, hiking, and equestrian trail. It is a beautiful linear park, 41 miles long and fairly flat, extending from Downtown Hattiesburg through Sumrall, Bassfield, and Carson to Prentiss. The trail is 10 feet wide and paved with asphalt, making the Trace simple and enjoyable to navigate. On any given day, you are likely to find a large number of locals and visitors traveling the path which was formerly a line on the railroad system.
