Nestled between the Blue Ridge and Appalachian mountain ranges on the site of a former walnut plantation, just three miles off I-81, the Staunton/Walnut Hills KOA offers a wide variety of camping options, from 100-foot-long pull-throughs to creek-side tent sites to rustic cabins and cottages with bathroom and kitchens.
In addition to a 2-acre fishing lake (no license required), our campground has a swimming pool, game room, pavilion, kids' playground and weekend activities, two laundry rooms and sparkling clean restrooms, as well as a country store well-stocked with food, bait, ice, toys, gifts, RV supplies, firewood and propane. Best of all, we have a brand-new, fully fenced dog park in which your canine companions can run free!
Off-site, historic Staunton--ranked by Smithsonian magazine as one of the "20 best small towns in America"--beckons a 10-minute drive from our entrance, while Shenandoah National Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway are 15 miles away. Historic Monticello and Ashlawn-Highland are nearby, as well as scenic wineries and breweries, festivals and culture at the Frontier Culture Museum, and great hiking at various state and federal parks.
