Meet Your Hosts

There's no better place to be then THE BEACH!

John and Sally started their journey in the campground business back in 1992, when Sally's father asked them to take over his campground. Over the next decade, they worked hard to fulfill her father's dream for the campground. In 2002, they decided it was time to purchase their own campground and made the move to Westhampton, MA with their five children to become the owners of Windy Acres Campground. By 2008, they had transformed Windy Acres into the Northampton/Springfield KOA.

Their children all played a role in operating the campgrounds over the years, with their oldest son Brian and his girlfriend Amber taking on the management of the Adirondack 1000 Islands Campground, which they converted to Natural Bridge Watertown NY KOA. In 2017, they purchased Camp Niantic Family Campground, with their son Michael leaving his career at Marriott to become the General Manager of Northampton KOA. John & Sally along with their youngest son Brysin moved down to Niantic which then began the transformation of Camp Niantic into Niantic KOA.

Their son Matthew handles maintenance at both the Northampton and Niantic locations, while their daughter Ashley works alongside Michael in running the campgrounds. Their daughter Nicole pursued a career in Nursing after helping out at the Northampton KOA in high school.

As of April 2022, John and Sally have retired from the day-to-day operations of Niantic KOA, passing the torch to Michael. They have also sold the Natural Bridge Watertown KOA. Brian and Amber, who now run Northampton KOA. This next generation of family is bringing new changes and additions to the family campgrounds, so be sure to stop by and see all the wonderful updates!
