MT LASSEN - SHINGLETOWN KOA

The natural landscape of this KOA reflects the beautiful geography of the area. This shady, peaceful campground is nestled among cedars, oaks and pines at an elevation of 3,900 feet. Nearby Lassen Volcanic National Park, McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park, and Lake Shasta are among the numerous opportunities for sightseeing, hiking, stargazing and photography. Spend the day fishing at Hat Creek or just relax around the campground. Swim in our heated pool, play basketball, beach volleyball, tether ball, or swing on the cool tree swing. Don't miss our new birding area. This campground offers spacious RV sites featuring back-in and full-hookup Pull-Though sites up to 65 feet. Our deluxe patio sites include a BBQ grill, patio table and chairs. Deluxe Cabins have a full kitchen and bath, A/C and heat. Linens are provided for the main bed. Camping Cabins offer A/C and heat and are located near the restrooms. Linens or sleeping bags are available for a rental fee at all cabins upon request. Tent sites are available with or without electricity. All sites have fire pits and picnic tables. Even your dog will enjoy our large KampK9 dog area with its obstacle course.
Every camper is treated like family. Come and stay awhile.

It unexpectedly snowed so we didn’t get to enjoy the outside but the cabin is always nice and the snow was beautiful. The people who work there are very friendly. 5/8/2024

Quick two-night stay to break up a long drive. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Beautiful quiet setting amongst the evergreens. Unfortunately, the whole campground was covered in snow from a big dump the previous night so we did not get to explore the grounds much... 5/8/2024

It was a great stay. Weather didn’t cooperate. It snowed on day 2 ended up inside the camper all day. Good thing WiFi works great. This is a great place to stay very friendly staff. Grounds well kept. And free coffee all day. 5/6/2024

We were traveling with another couple and were at at opposite ends of the campground. They were very helpful to get us spots closer. Our spots were awkward and hard to get in, leveled and lined up well enough with the utilities and to be able to get the slide out... 5/3/2024

This is a very nice KOA! They go out of their way to add extra touches that I've never seen in many other KOA's. In our 2 bedroom cabin,(no bathroom) there were bags with sheets, blankets, pillows, and towels. That's a first in this type of accommodation... 4/29/2024

The staff was very friendly and constantly working on cleaning and improving things. The campground was very clean. The playground was great for our toddler and the dog park was great for our dog. The internet was great and I was able to work without issues. 4/27/2024

All four types of volcanoes in the world are found in Lassen Volcanic National Park . Over 150 miles of trails and a culturally significant scenic highway provide access to volcanic wonders including steam vents, mudpots, boiling pools, volcanic peaks, and painted dunes.

McArther-Burney Falls Memorial State Park is the second oldest state park in the California State Parks system, located approximately 6 miles north of Burney, California.
The park's centerpiece is the 129-foot Burney Falls, which is not the highest or largest waterfall in the state, but possibly the most beautiful. Additional water comes from springs, joining to create a mist-filled basin. Burney Creek originates from the park's underground springs and flows to Lake Britton, getting larger along the way to the majestic falls.

Enjoy the self-guided trail through Subway Cave. It is a 1/3 mile long lava tube near the town of Old Station. Bring sturdy shoes, a reliable flashlight and a light jacket because the cave remains a cool 46 degrees year around. The cave is open in late May through October and stays closed through the winter months.

Located in the NE corner of Lassen National Park, Cinder Cone Trail offers a magestic view of the surrounding valley and a crater at the top of the mountain.
Cinder Cone Nature Trail is a 4.8 mile loop trail that features a lake and is rated as difficult. The trail is best used from May until October.
