Enjoy camping in a peaceful countryside setting that includes convenience. We are centrally located to several main travel routes, with multiple options of nearby restaurants, local festivals, events and historical sites.

Our sites are all full hook-up, slide out friendly, and spaciously set. Big-Rig pull thru's are often available without interfering trees, making satellite service very accessible. Heat and Air conditioned camping cabins and cottages with private full bathrooms offer a chance to kick back and relax in a comfortable, yet rustic atmosphere.

Stay a week or more and experience Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia from one base camp. Our GREAT staff can guide you to a different day trip each day. Kayak, fish one of the many lakes in our area or explore one or more of the many caves in the region. ATV riders can enjoy numerous prepared trails just minutes from your site at Wayne National Forest. Return to marvel at the beautiful sunsets from your RV or cabin, participate in one of the evening activities, or simply enjoy a crackling campfire into the night.

Stay connected to friends and family with free Wi-Fi. Other amenities include a 24-hour laundry, campground store, Kentucky Appalachian region crafts, and two large covered picnic pavilions. Our children's playground, miniature golf, sand volleyball, large swimming pool, and hiking areas are great for summertime gatherings and will keep the whole family entertained.

Theme Weekends (in season) include bonfires, crafts, corn hole toss competitions, special event breakfasts, ice cream socials and more. Be sure to check our website Events page for details.

Movie Nights

Each weekend, there will be a children's movie, weather permitting, on the Pavilion. In the event of inclement weather, the movie will be held inside the Recreation Room.

Our handicap-friendly playground with rubber mulch base features a number of child/parent interactive playsets. Sit back and enjoy watching your child(ren) play or explore a tunnel together.

The whole family will have hours of putting fun on the mini green. Challenge each other to see who will be the first to overcome the ramps, bunkers and other obstacles of our 9-hole course.

This event makes a wonderful end to an activity filled day. Join us at the Upper Pavilion and make new acquaintances while enjoying something cool to eat. Check with our Great Front Desk staff for times and locations.

KOA Campfire Time

When the sun goes down, campfire time begins. Gather around the fire pit and get acquainted with fellow campers. Campfire time promises all the classics: toasting marshmallows, eating s'mores, belting out camp tunes during sing-a-longs. Be sure to check our calendar for dates.

Whether just practicing or in the heat of competition our cornhole game boards get quite a workout. So will you. Come join us for all the fun.

Dog Park

Our four-legged guests are kampers too! So come on in, get settled on your site, and take them for a free run at the Dog Park. It's all fenced in! Seating benches are available for the parents.

Sand Volleyball

Bring the family and try out the sand volleyball area. Put together a team and challenge your camping buddies. GREAT outdoor fun for all.

Kids Crafts

Kids Crafts are held each weekend through the summer season (Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend) and on some special occasions. Stop in and explore your creative side. This activity is fun for everyone.

There are 300 miles of trails on the Wayne National Forest open to hiking, mountain biking, ATV and horseback riding.

Paramount Arts Center Photo

The Paramount Theater was built in 1930 utilizing the design of a model theater created by Paramount Pictures for construction at the Chicago World's Fair of 1932. There was to be one theater built in each of the forty-eight states, however, only three were completed. Ashland Paramount Theater is believed to be the sole survivor. The artistic vision of the Arts Center is to create a cultural environment that reaffirms the area's Appalachian traditions while broadening the region's aesthetic parameters. The theatre has seating for 1400 people and an average of 120 performances per year. 606-324-3175

Dafford Flood Murals

Don't miss these beautiful hand-painted murals of the history of Catlettsburg. The murals are painted by Robert Dafford, who also painted murals in Paducah. There are 9 scenes on 17 panels along the side of flood wall. 606-329-1007

Blenko Glass

One of only a few remaining hand-made glass companies left in the United States is located just a few miles from the campground. Take the self-guided tour and linger to watch as these artisans orchestrate individually hand-blown beautiful works of art. Many of the glass pieces have become collector's items that can be viewed in the gallery. Enjoy the various colored pieces of art as well as one of the Country Music Awards and the US Capital lighting globe on display. Other pieces are available for purchase in the gift shop. Tours are available Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The gift shop is open daily and admission is free.

Downtown Huntington includes the new $60 million entertainment complex that opened in 2004. Stroll along the Ohio River walk and then enjoy the bookstore, comedy club, restaurants, and a 16-screen movie theater. The Big Sandy Arena, which has many indoor events, is just another block away.

Camden Park

This park was developed as a picnic area by the Camden Interstate Railway in 1903. Since then, Camden Park has turned into a thriving traditional amusement park. It is the oldest amusement park in West Virginia, with about 30 rides, including an iconic wooden roller coaster. The park is typically open from May through October and only a short drive from the campground.

Heritage Farm Museum and Village

Make a day trip of this historic area recreating the turn of the century Appalachian life in restored log buildings. The pioneer village includes a blacksmith shop, antique shop, church, petting zoo, museums, community room, old schoolhouse and much more. Guided tours available all year 10 to 3 p.m. Monday-Saturday (except Thanksgiving, Christmas and in winter months). There is a charge for guided tours. KYOVA Friday Night Gospel Sing

Looking for something different to do on Friday nights? Come stay with us over the weekend and visit the FREE KYOVA Gospel Gathering just 3 miles from your site. Concessions are available, with meals starting at 5pm.

Mother's Day & Come Camp and Care with Us Weekend

Come join us for all the events this weekend. Spend time with Mom and help us raise money for children with cancer during one of our many fun activities. Bring a friend to join in the festivities. Let's make this bigger than ever.

Memorial Day Weekend May 25-28, 2012

Join us to start your summer fun! Start Friday night with a movie on the Pavilion for the kids. Saturday has cornhole, Sno-Cones, and an evening campfire sing-a-long (weather permitting). On Sunday - bring the kids for crafts in the afternoon and stop by for the ice cream social in the evening. Finish the weekend with a pancake breakfast Monday morning. You won't want to miss the excitement!

During the past twenty years, Summer Motion has presented on the Ashland boat ramp some of the best country, rock, and Motown groups in the world at no cost to attendees, and in an alcohol free environment.

4th of July Weekend(s) July 2-8, 2012

Show your American pride with the best decorated site. Fireworks display, July 3. Rain date:July 4 (weather permitting). Since July 4th is Wednesday we decided to make two weekends of fun or just one really long week. You decide.

We'll start the celebration early on June 29th. Each weekend starts off with a movie on Friday night at the upper pavilion. Be sure to sign up for the corn hole games. Age groups and times will be posted in the office. Swing by for sno-cones in the afternoon. In between, enjoy the refreshing pool, mini golf, hiking trail, and more. Sunday afternoon join us in recreation room for WII bowling. Sunday morning, we have a pancake breakfast to start your day and week in a GREAT way.

We'll be going all out for FUN this weekend. Join us Friday Night for a movie at upper pavilion. Saturday will feature a sand volleyball competition, corn hole games, snow cones, and a community campfire with the Oldtown Gospel Heirs (weather permitting).

Join us Sunday evening to watch and dance with The Wizards of Dance club followed by an Ice Cream social on Sunday night.

Greenup Old Fashion Days

October 6-8, 2011
This is the 42nd Annual Old Fashion Days. Old fashioned entertainment (applebutter making, looms, quilts, tractor show, talent show, etc.). Festival starts at 9 a.m. and usually ends at 11 p.m. each night. Activities all day long. Parade on Saturday. Come and join in the fun.

The Poppy Mountain BlueGrass Festival

September 13-17, 2011
The Poppy Mountain Bluegrass Festival actually begins September 1 and lasts for twenty fun-filled days. Bands that have showcased at Poppy Mountain have been Mountain Heart, Ernie Thacker and Route 23, Ramona Church and Carolina Road, The Nuthin Fancy band, Southern Drive, Shades of Tyme, Full House, Trinity Mountain, The Dismembered Tennessians, and many many more!
