Our new Ice Cream Parlor
We are actually working on our Ice Cream Parlor. We have bought an classic Bastian Blessing counter, the one you remember in the old drugstores or diners. We want you to get the best Ice Cream like in those days when everything tasted better, also in perfect combination with our impressive Vintage soda Pop Gallery.
It will be open on Friday and Saturday afternoons between Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends. We have decided to serve the finest Gelato there is. We'll have to decide soon about what flavors and topping will serve. We will go with waffle bowls instead of foam bowls, that's for sure and carry avolut 4 different flavors of gelato and go nuts with toppings!Soon at your favorite South Bend/Elkhart KOA campground! Watch out for it!

We're talking about Robots, Tin Musical Boxes, Sea Monkeys, Friction Planes, Fishing Game, Sock Monkeys, Peg Puzzles and much more.Yes, they are a little bit more expensive than plastic crap, but they last much longer, make more sense and the quality is much sturdier. Some of the items you can't find anywhere else in a campstore!
Whole Foods Store in town
The response is so overwhelming that we decided to put out the news on our webpage:
The new Whole Foods grocery store is open now in Mishawaka, just 6 miles form us, easy to find at the intersection of Grape road and Day road.
Don't worry anymore about GMO, chemicals in food, artificial flavors, colors, tested on animals stuff, just plain good food. A beautiful grocery store! Mother Nature at its Best!
Drinking water quality
We think it is important for our customers to know that we are offering clean, fresh and crisp tasting drinking water to our campers. And for your health and safety our drinking water is tested every 3 months by certified laboratories.
Ask the campground about the water quality before you make your reservations. It is important!
And since we and the whole area around us are connected finally to the Granger City Sewer System, our drinking water quality will improve even more.

Deposit rules for Lodges and Cabins
We would like to inform our customers that we are requiring a refundable deposit of $100 if you rent one of our lodges. But therefore there is no more pet deposit required for the lodges.
A pet deposit of $50 is still required if you travel with pets and stay in one of our regular 1 or 2 room cabins.
Also cabin or lodge rentals have to be paid with credit card only; we do NOT accept any other form of payment, even cash, for cabin or lodge rentals!
Meet Your Hosts
"Every customer is unique, and we treat them that way!"
Teamwork is what prompted Thomas Jetzer and Patricia Schenk to move from their homes in Switzerland to the United States. "We wanted to run our own company and to work in traveling or camping," said Patricia. Thomas was working as a car mechanic foreman for GM, and Patricia was the general manager at an RV rental company after the two immigrated to the United States in 2002. In 2005, they purchased the South Bend KOA and have since invested much of their lives into their business. "We are one big family," said Patricia.
According to Thomas and Patricia, the South Bend KOA proves customer service friendly, and everyone attempts to ensure a pleasant stay. "Every customer is unique and should be treated like that," added Patricia. Not only are the customers unique, the campground itself is commendable-renovations, scenery, and accommodations are what a camper would expect upon arrival. "Our beautiful cabin village, our gorgeous tall pine trees, and our remodeled store bring us the most pride," said Patricia.
True to their business, Thomas and Patricia love to camp and travel. "We have done more than 100,000 miles along the USA and have restored a 1973 GMC motor home to use it as often as possible," said Patricia.
