You know that you've struck gold when you discover the Placerville KOA!

You'll think you've struck gold when you discover the Placerville KOA - and you have! Located in the glorious Sierra foothills between Sacramento and South Lake Tahoe, it's a terrific launching pad for trips to California's Gold Country, the American River, wineries, Apple Hill, Old Town Sacramento and the Red Hawk Casino. Take a world - famous whitewater rafting trip down the American River for a day you'll never forget. Visit the area's fine wineries or plentiful apple orchards with handmade crafts, pies and pastries. When you're hot and tired, relax in KOA's refreshing pool (in-season), or take the free on-call shuttle to Red Hawk Casino next door for a delicious buffet. Sunday mornings in the summer, KOA serves a fabulous breakfast. Before you leave, be sure to pamper the adorable miniature goats in the petting zoo. Check out the new, larger dog park for your four-legged buddies!  Pool: May 1 - September 30. Max pull thru: 121 feet. Your hosts: John & Cindy Simoneau and family.

KOA Care Camps

This badge has been earned by this KOA Campground for compassion and support of KOA Care Camps. It is given out following our Big Weekend, and is in effect for one year.

Someday, cancer will be nothing more than a memory. Until that day, KOA Care Camps are here to bring hope, joy, healing and fun to kids with cancer. Working together, KOA owners, the KOA home office and great KOA campers like you raise funds for a single cause: to send kids with cancer to medically supervised camps where they have a great time with other kids who understand what they're going through. They do it all while receiving the treatments they need, absolutely free of charge! Until cancer is a memory, KOA Care Camps will continue to help these sweet kids make terrific memories of their own.
