A refreshing oasis in California's Mojave Desert, the Barstow Calico KOA is conveniently located midway between Los Angeles and Las Vegas. The campground is focused on providing a pleasant and restful change from the rigors of a day on the road. Kids can work off some pent up energy on our fun bikes, playground with climbing wall or in the family pool. Our four-legged guests delight in discovering acres of desert to explore. This KOA features 70-ft. pull-thrus with dividing hedges, full hookups, free cable and Wi-Fi, cabins, as well as tent sites and our first tepee. Free shuttle service to Calico Ghost Town, a former 1880's silver-mining town, with seven fun-packed festival weekends each year, is available for guests. The Calico Mountain Trails, just 3 miles from the park, are a playground for off-highway vehicles, rockhounders and hikers. The Calico Early Man Archaeological Site is also nearby.

Calico Ghost Town Old silver mining town built in 1881 during the largest silver strike in California. It is now one of a few original Old West mining camps and consists of at least one-third original structures; the remaining buildings are consistent in representing reconstruction of the Old West. A fun place for the whole family located only 3 miles from the park.

Rainbow Basin A beautiful national natural landmark located just 12 miles from us. Though access is unpaved much of the way, it is an easy drive to the Rainbow Basin Loop, an area of multi-colored rock formations and scenic canyons.

Calico Early Man Archaeological Site Unique in-place museum of Pleistocene archaeology and geology and two master pits where most of the findings were made.
