This multiple award-winning KOA is a great place to stay while visiting the magnificent old-growth redwood forests of northern California and America's Wild Rivers Coast. The KOA staff will help you create fun-filled day trips with maps and directions to make your stay fun, easy and memorable. Discover the best hikes among the giant redwoods, swim or hike the pristine Smith River or explore tide pools, agate hunting and beachcombing along the miles of local beaches. Other day trip possibilities include guided ocean and river fishing, jet boat river trips, Battery Point Lighthouse, Ocean World, the Oregon Caves, the Trees of Mystery, the Tour Thru Tree and Fern Canyon. This kampground offers full hookup, big-rig friendly pull thru sites with 50/30 amp service, expanded cable TV and free Wi-Fi. In the redwood forest section of the kampground, you'll find beautiful and unique tent sites, water and electric sites for smaller campers and RVs, and Kamping Kabins. Join in seasonal pancake breakfasts and ice cream socials or just relax with the family around the campfire.

Hiking Enjoy a variety of hikes in the majestic Redwood National Forest or along the beautiful Pacific Coast.

Area Highlights

Redwood National Park (2 miles) Experience the majesty of the redwoods that are taller than any other trees in the world. Stroll thru magnificent groves and lose yourself in the serenity of these ancient giants when you visit Redwood National Park which is over 60 miles in length. It stretches over 75452 acres with 19640 acres of old grove redwood forest. Follow Howland Hill Road, a beautiful drive which follows the historic stagecoach routes to Oregon. Stop at Magical Stout Grove an outstanding grove of old growth redwoods where you will find the 345 foot tall Stout Tree, one of the largest in the Park. Visit Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, the setting in the Star Wars saga, Return of the Jedi, or just enjoy any of the many magnificent hikes or mountain biking trails.

Pacific Ocean (5 miles) Experience the real Northern California as you enjoy our rugged North Coast. Relax in the pleasant climate of the Coast Range. Hiking, beachcombing, surfing, fishing, crabbing and clamming are among some of the activities that await you. Visit with the sea lions at the harbor or along pebble beach. Almost any high spot is an ideal place to watch for migrating whales.

Battery Point Lighthouse Tours (5 miles) This historic lighthouse was built in 1856 and is located on a small island 100 feet offshore. It is accessible only by foot at low tide. This active lighthouse which serves as a private aid to navigation offers tours to the public.
