KOA Kamp Green Recognition
KOA Kamp Green Recognition
This KOA meets the established criteria to become a greener campground operation and is recognized by the "Kamp Green" icon.
Spread along the banks of the Brandywine River, our KOA enjoys a rural setting near many historic cities and attractions.
Located midway between Lancaster Amish Country and Philadelphia, your hosts offer an experience rich in revolutionary history, culture, and family fun. Campsites include tenting along the Brandywine River, RV sites, cabins, and full service deluxe cabins. A guided tour of Philadelphia and Valley Forge departs daily from the campground. Food service and ice cream is available on summer weekends in the Stars & Stripes Cafe. Canoes and Kayaks are welcome, or can be rented locally or on site. Swimming, fishing, mini-golf, and gem mining are among our amenities. On special theme weekends, enjoy entertainment, activities, flashlight lollipop hunts, and hayrides.

Meet Your Hosts
On the outside, their careers were glamorous and ambitious. On the inside, the Levesques were ready to leave the fast track of the corporate world.
Gary and Lori Levesque bought their KOA campground in 1991 but not before getting a heavy dosage of company life. Lori worked as a system analyst for a large mortgage company, and Gary worked on structural dynamics in the aeronautical industry. Their careers began to require more and more travel, and Gary's company struggled with layoffs. "It wasn't fun to go to work," he said.
His parents were the first to come upon the idea of owning a campground. Gary's family did a lot of camping when he was growing up. "My mom was set on the idea of buying a campground," Gary said. "Originally I thought it would be going backwards, but we ended up buying it."
The Levesques were attracted to the campground setting and area and are still proud to offer it to campers today. "It is on the river in a beautiful and quiet area known for being horse country," Gary said. "It is full of rolling hills and is peaceful."
Gary said when people come to the West Chester campground they are treated with whatever it takes to keep them happy.
In their spare time, the couple still likes to camp and go to the beach. Gary is a hockey player, while Lori is a scrap booker. They volunteer in many different capacities, and Gary serves as a deacon in their church. Their three children are involved in the campground operations.
