John and Linda are back in Mystic and looking forward to seeing old friends and making new friends. John and Linda were recognized as the 2011 KOA Company-Owned Property Managers of the Year. "This award was a great honor, says Linda, but must be shared with the talented and caring staff that worked with us. A strong Team, focused on the guest is always a winning combination."

Summershiners return in 2012
Here at the Mystic KOA, our Summershiners (Christian college students who spend the summer with us) are ready to bring fun to your vacation! It's actually part of their job to create a great experience for our campers - a task they don't take lightly. Whether you're hanging out on our playground or unwinding in our pool, boredom is not an option. These are terrific young men and women who will help make wonderful camping memories for your children. We will welcome our new crew in May, 2012.
KOA Campfire Time
When the sun goes down, campfire time begins. Gather around the fire ring and get acquainted with fellow campers. Campfire time promises all the classics: toasting marshmallows, eating s'mores and belting out camp tunes during sing-a-longs. We've even been known to swap a scary story or two! Also join us for interactive live entertainment at the Campfire Theatre. From talent shows to slapstick to game show re-creations, this event relies on camper participation.
Outdoor Cinema
The outdoor cinema is like a drive-in movie without the car. You can enjoy a family-oriented film under the stars. Grab your blanket, chair, and some change for the concession stand for freshly popped popcorn, soda, and candy. Be prepared to get comfortable and enjoy the show! Movies are shown on Wednesday and Friday nights in season.
Tie-DyeT-Shirts
Bring a piece of your trip home with you: make a t-shirt during craft hour. Your tie-dyed t-shirt will be a wearable memento from your vacation. With a demonstration and all supplies provided, this retro activity satisfies campers of all ages. Remember, there is no right or wrong way to tie-dye! There is a minimal charge for supplies and shirt.
Jumping Pillow
What do you get when you cross a trampoline with a bounce castle? A jumping pillow! This safe activity provides countless hours of exercise and entertainment for the young and the young at heart.
Hay Wagon Ride
Hop on the KOA hay wagon for the camp crawl. Our tractor-pulled wagon, filled with families of happy campers, winds through the camp twice weekly. Don't be surprised to hear a serenade of campfire songs by the passengers on this rustic ride!
Mini Golf
The whole family will have hours of putting fun on the mini green. Challenge each other to see who will be the first to overcome the ramps, bunkers and other obstacles of our 9-hole course. It's a hole-in-fun!

Mystic Seaport
Mystic Seaport boasts four National Historic Landmark vessels and a re-created 19th-century seafaring village. Visit the world's last wooden whaling ship, a maritime gallery and even a planetarium.
Mystic Aquarium and Institute for Exploration
The Mystic Aquarium is "where deep sea exploration comes to life." Visit seals, whales, sharks and even piranhas; if you long for a hands-on experience, visit the Ray Touch Pool. Above ground, one exhibit you won't want to miss is the "Hidden Amazon."
Project Oceanology
Project Oceanology is a hands-on education in marine science at a beautiful waterfront location. Go on a lighthouse expedition, an oceanographic research cruise or a seal watch! Children's Museum of Southeastern Connecticut
From "Toddler Land" to a research submarine, this museum has something for everyone. This is a fabulous place to engage the children in the thrill of learning and discovery.
Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center
With a goal of "environmental education for all ages," the Nature Center is the place to watch for all types from owls and hawks to painted turtles. Spend a day touring eight miles of winding trails through a stunning 300-acre wooded preserve.
Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center
The world's largest and most comprehensive Native American Museum and Research Center offers four acres of exhibits and two museums - one especially for children. Learn about the histories of all Native peoples in the United States and Canada.
Essex Steam Train and Riverboat
Enjoy a roaring '20's style four-course meal on the Clipper Dinner Train, or simply take in the New England scenery. You may also pair the steam locomotive ride with a jaunt on the Mississippi-style riverboat or a trip to Gillette Castle.
Olde Mistick Village

Rhode Island Beaches

Connecticut Ferries
You can ride a ferry to get somewhere or you can ride a ferry to enjoy the fresh air and scenery. The Chester-Hadlyme Ferry carries vehicles and passengers across the Connecticut River from April 1 through November 30. Call 860-443-3856 for schedules. The Cross Sound Ferry carries vehicles and passengers from New London to Long Island year round. Call 860-443-5281 for schedules. The New London - Montauk Ferry is a passenger and bicycle only ride. Connecticut College Arboretum
The Arboretum is a living laboratory; 750 acres of gardens, forests, meadows and wetlands. Enjoy the Campus landscape with its trees and shrubs from around the world; the Native Plant Collection with its pond and walking trails; the Wildflower Garden and much more. Open every day from sunrise to sunset. Free guided tours Sundays at 2:00 p.m. from May - October. Admission is charged. The Arboretum is located in New London, 15 miles west of North Stonington.
Misquamicut Beach
Misquamicut Beach has sun, sand and surf! The seven miles of unspoiled beaches here are a great place for the whole family to play. The amusement park has an old-fashioned carousel, rides, go-carts and more! Eat the best seafood in area restaurants and take in the nightlife after the sun goes down. The Beach is located eight miles southeast of North Stonington.
Ocean Beach Park
Ocean Beach Park is fun in the sun! This beautiful sugar sand beach has it all - a long boardwalk, waterslide, outdoor pool, playground, arcade, nature walk and a very wide beach to play on. Plus there are restaurants and live entertainment for you to enjoy. There are lifeguards on duty and a fee to access the beach. Ocean Beach Park is located in New London, 15 miles west of North Stonington.

Events all day Saturday, including an easter egg hunt outside (weather permitting), crafts, egg decorating, egg toss. For the Easter parade wear your finest topper and win a prize!
