The facilities were extremely clean and the man at check in was very friendly and helpful. He even offered to print out something for us that we needed. The surroundings were beautiful and everything was so clean and peaceful.

Excellent experience, very clean rest room and shaver, will stay at Koa if available during my trip. Thanks

Arrived late and our map and site details were waiting for us. Quick and easy online registration beforehand. Site was clean and well-maintained. Loved camping here!

I very much like the Mt. Shasta area. The KOA was pretty good. A few friendly suggestions. More rock laid down an ALL camp roads to keep dust down, stronger internet connection so all camp sites get internet, and better signage to find camp site location, for day or night arrivals. Over all good experience.

Spacious tent sites in a stand of tall pines away from RV-ers, showers worked OK but stalls were a bit cramped. Great service at the office!

got in late and left early so the only thing I can comment on was the dismal ability to find the campsite in the dark, walking in front of the car with searchlight and took the third time around to spot the little site number nailed to tree. then wondered is this part of the road or the site ? went up to bathroom with door code, would have been nice to have the lights to see code - back for ligh

very accomodating. Was perfect for what we needed. Thank you Shasta KOA!

Host was very helpful in relocating us helpfully as site had available spaces in shoulder season. Very helpful and gracious in assisting us. Well-shaded tent sites.

my car was broken in to and my priceless violin stolen and full length fur coat. This facility needs security!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

I question your comments. We did have a couple vehicles broken into in town and on the campground but your mention of the priceless Violin never was stolen, our PD has a record of you having that violin, the fur coat ?? Why would someone in a campground steal a fur coat out of an unlocked vehicle.

I left 2 nights early. There was a big crowd 15-20 people with 4-5 tents next to me. They let their kids wonder in my camp, looking for wood & play on the log that was the boundary between the two camps & jumping into mine. I mentioned something to them, but it didn't change. I probably won't visit on such a busy weekend. I do enjoy visiting Mt. Shasta during the off-peak times.

Very easy to get to. Great location. Just beware the train noise!!

Clean campsite. Friendly staff. Cars were broken into at night and guy was smoking weed in the bathroom.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

The report of vehicles broken into was looked into and it happened just not at our place but all over town. We cannot comment about the smoking in the bathroom as no one from your party or others reported that to the office.

Tent sites are subjected to extremely loud freight trains from right across the street. They run all night. Otherwise site is fine, if you don't like to sleep.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Some people love the trains. For those that don't we do offer free ear plugs. We have on our web site and info page train info and warn guests in advance. The trains have been here way before us and its something we cannot control. The whistles prevent deaths, and I myself am one that loves trains.

The campsite was crappy.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

I quote you, the campsite was "crappy" Was it because you wanted something more elegant, private or secluded. We often get high reviews about our sites. You were also given an option to pick and choose a different site one of over 40 available that evening. Were sorry you were not satisfied.

Loud train passes very close to the grounds. Campsites are crowded close together. Playground and pool were nice. The restroom was clean.

We had a very pleasant stay. Our son loved the pool and playground, the grounds were safe and well-kept, bathrooms were clean, and we had a comfortable night. The train noises were especially cool for our small son. Would stay here again.

great for kids, clean shower, close to town, transit system, and a down hill ride to the Amtrak by bike; take the local bus up the grade from Dunsmuir stay at the koa then do other things come back if need be take a shower cleanup.

Great people, great personalities, greatest employees & clean environment. It was our best vacation ever thanks to you guys :)))
Aug 10, 2016
Camping site was spacious in a nice patch of the woods, too dusty though. Trains pass close to the site day and night and disturb sleep.
Aug 09, 2016
The bathroom is clean. The site is beautiful. A little noisy at night when train passing by.
Aug 09, 2016
Wonderful campground!!! The staff is great and the campground is clean. A special shout out to Bill and Fran, who run the place. Bill looks out for the kids and gets to know the people who stay there (he's the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off his back), and Fran works from sun up to sun down to keep that place clean! We had a blast here, and can't wait to come back!!!

The manager went the second mile on our stay. Being 82 and this was our first stay at a KOA and camping. He gave my wife ice on two occasions and I needed to purchase two bungie cords they didn't sell any, so he gave two from his tool shead. Bill & Dee

Great location, good amenities. Disappointed that the pool was unavailable at the time. Would have been nice to have a dip after a hard days hiking.
Aug 08, 2016
Great tent spots, plenty of space and close to the bathrooms. The bathrooms however got quite crowded in the morning and the evening.
Aug 06, 2016
This KOA is located in an amazingly picturesque location: Mt. Shasta sits there behind the variety of lushes trees as majestically as ever. Two fixable drawbacks: un-highlighted paths making it almost impossible to see and second, lots of loose dust. Pros: friendly and informative staff, clean, great tent camping. We are very happy you have a KOA there.
Aug 04, 2016
A wonderful improvement would be to lay would chips and fine gravel in the tent area. The powdery dirt makes everything black.
Aug 03, 2016
The only negative is the noisy trains at night. The staff was friendly and efficient. The grounds were very neat and clean. Location was amazing! Loved this place!
Aug 02, 2016
Beautiful campground with great facilities, but very noisy because of the highway.

Very clean toilet and shower. Train sound is noisy.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you for the feedback. Next time, stop by the office for a pair of complimentary ear plugs that we offer to all guests! We understand the train is noisy and we want to ensure our guests have a restful sleep among the trees. Stay golden. -Mt. Shasta KOA staff

Very unwelcoming staff, bordering on rude. Fourth year staying here and most likely our last.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you. Our staff tries to be as welcoming as possible. We never try to be rude, but we are honest in our responses. We outline your options. You are given the autonomy to choose the best option for you. If none of the options are appealing, we offer refunds and a list of neighboring campgrounds.

We felt like a train was going to run us over all night. We didn't know our tent site was so close to the railroad.
