Big Koa, well organized with plenty of activities. Pickleball court needs better lines, wifi was not good, u can say u should not use while camping, but in todays world it is a necessity.

The activities were great, staff and restaurants were fabulous but the upkeep, maintenance and cleanliness was a 2 star at best.

Very popular place to stay with terrific Mountain View’s. Some sites can be tight to get into but being escorted is a big plus. Lot’s of pets, lot’s of activities for everyone. Busy place so go slow!

The site was not well described on the website. When we showed up it was on a hill just barely big enough for our camper. There wasn’t much room for a family to sit around on camp chairs. I paid $40 to select a site and felt that there should be better pictures or description of what the site was like so would have picked a different site. Comfort station 3 is due for an update but was clean.

The park was wonderful and everyone was very friendly

It’s like a small town if it’s own. Nice campground but the worst service. I’ve traveled this country and other countries. Have stayed in another campground 15 minutes away and had almost full reception at the other place. Which was also in the mountains. This campground was the worst reception ever. But it does have nice amenities. Kids loved it!

Definitely needs better WIFI but the campground is fantastic. I would stay there again, it is just beautiful.

Nice wooded lots. This KOA has a lot of things to do including the horseback riding, swimming, a brewery, ice-cream shop, gift shop, etc. This KOA is very large and very busy. Would recommend to anyone travel to the Black Hills, Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, or just traveling through.

This was the second time we have stayed that this KOA resort. First of all everyone involved with the horse riding were so friendly and helpful ! Lily the guide on the horse tour was the best ! Really enjoyed all the amenities. We did the tie-dye shirt activity and that was the only time all week that the activity people were less than helpful and unfriendly.

Employees were amazing! Beautiful resort with tons a kids activities.

First time in a very long time at a private campground It was nice enough, but very crowded. Spaces extremely close together. There were plenty of activities and all of the children esteemed to be having a lot of fun. Recommend a dedicated trail to the dog walk area from the back loop. Very nice facility, just not our cup of tea.

Very nice facility, something for everyone.... highly recommend....

THE GOOD **Disney-like architecture, lobby, landscaping, public areas. *Manager, Jamie= very helpful, problem solver. *scenery = breathtaking. *Excellent check in system. THE BAD Manager, Nathan = sarcastic, condescending, aggressively protective of system. *Significant disparity between Upper Tier sites and Lower Tier sites. *******PLEASE CALL US FOR DETAILS AT 630.688.8067 Thanks,

I rated a 2 as the area is close to Rushmore and other attractions. The Campground needs a major overall, and cleanup, section 500 is a mud hole, laundry desperately needs updated. Grounds were not kept up well based on what they charge$$$.Disappointing on the cost of all the extras we wanted to do but too much $$$.Resturant had terrible food. The turtle had great pizza and chicken but $$$$

Sires were very small, not enough room for trailer and vehicle, you need to take a lesson from Cody Koa as they are unbelievable, spacious and very friendly

We had a great time with my grandkids!

Great resort in great location. Way too crowded and you definitively need reliable internet service. Being without cell signal and without reliable internet to send/receive text messages, is not acceptable in the 21st Century!
Jul 20, 2023
The site was not exactly what I expected. Way too congested had no wi-fi during our stay. Told the office, they were not concerned about it. Would not go there again.
Jul 20, 2023
had a campsite 343 that backed up to the open meadow. It was great in that we did not feel congested, had a great view of the park and mountains.

Everything about the campground was great! The one downfall was the lack of cellular signal/wifi. This was tricky with working and/or poor weather.

The staff is so informative and kind. The campground is very clean and everything is well organized.

Horrible cell service at your small “city” in the mountains.Driving out of your property for 1-2 miles gave us FULL cell service. We had excellent cell service at Cosmos Mystery Area out of Keystone? And that’s a known spot for unusual activity.Instead of packing more RVs into your area with newly built, muddy spaces, take time togive eachtraveler a personalizedexperience. You have enough$ to do

Very nice resort for families with children. Lots of activities. Parts of the resort are nice but the road near the rodeo where we were was horrible. Mud everywhere and sites are on top of each other. The resort is very close to Mount Rushmore and other places to visit. The laundry room was a disaster. The pancakes at the pancake breakfast were cold and doughy. Ernie was very helpful and welcoming

Friendly and helpful staff.

Very clean. Very family friendly. The showers and restrooms could use some work. But loved the our stay.

After night check in did not go smoothly, no envelope up front after a long drive made for a frustrating situation.

Great fun and Nathaneal was such a tremendous help with getting us a site closer to the rest of the family, he was terrific!! We had a great stay with lots of activity there and around Palmer Gulch. Only one thing needs some correction is the bathrooms/shower facility. There is so much use since are so many travelers, it needs to be cleaned oftener. Once a-day is not enough, twice would work!

Site #87 should not have anything above 35 ft.

Amazing! We had so much fun horseback riding. Will be back in the future ϋ

One of the best KOA's we camped at. Clean, staff was wonderful, lots of activities for the kids, close to Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse. Absolutely 5 stars!
Jul 18, 2023
The sites are extremely tight and people have trailers sticking out into the roads because they don't fit on their sites. There is also no cell service and the wifi only works at the main office.
Jul 18, 2023
The ONLY disappointment was the offer of Free WIFI. There is NO WIFI. This FREE WIFI is misleading please advertise as it is don’t say you have wifi. I would probably go somewhere else to have real Wi-Fi

Amazing place for our family to stay on our first Mount Rushmore trip! Super clean facilities and lots of extra fun stuff to do.
Jul 18, 2023
My wife and I decided to stay at Palmer Gulch because it was very centralized for what we wanted to do. The staff was great. We went on the bridal trail our guide Anna was amazing. Thanks Anna for a very enjoyable ride. Remember always tight lines.

It's was very enjoyable. Lots of things to do, especially for kids. The pancake breakfast was a complete time saver. Ice Cream is a nice way to end the day. The internet needs lots of attention.
Jul 18, 2023
The employees were very kind and accommodating. The grounds were clean and there was so much to do. The activities were well organized and well kept and in order. Beautiful grounds and would definitely stay again.

Strange lot we had. Not level but made due. Nice people all around. Parking up front was very difficult even if you needed to just stop for firewood. Location was perfect for mt. Rushmore or Crazy horse.

We had a great time at this beautiful campground. We have been here many times in the past. The campground was well maintained and kept clean. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean the bathhouse was. Also, at our campsite we had a gas grill, and it was very clean upon my arrival.

We loved it! Great staff, clean facilities, and fun activities. Ideal location central to everything we wanted to see and do. Only wish we had a little more shade. Overall top notch!

Our site was a mud pit. We asked the front desk if they could lay down extra gravel or wood chips so we wouldn't be walking through mud every time we needed to get into our camper. We were told there was nothing they could do and they have simply had a lot of rain lately. Unacceptable. We had our kids fill up small buckets of gravel from the road and pour it in our mud pits. Poor service here

This is the 3rd time I have brought my family to this KOA. We have the best time when we stay here! We will be back again!

This place had ALL the perks of a great campground! We really enjoyed the days we were there! Bob (808) and Tina were wonderful about giving us help and insider tips about the Black Hills♥️

Great campground and friendly staff. Most camper spaces appear to be level. Lots of nice tent spots too. Lots of scenic rides in the area.

We stayed in one of their deluxe cabin/tiny houses (unit 466). It was clean and fairly well stocked - toaster, Keurig, small coffee pot, silverware, pots, pans, plates, bowls, mugs, glasses, and some utensils. We loved the location - near the lodge and new pool and playground. We were there over Memorial Day, despite it being packed it was quiet and peaceful. We found staff helpful with questions and responsive to requests (we asked for more spoons and coffee filters, they brought them to our cabin within minutes). The cabin has 2 tvs with cable that got about 20 channels. Cell service was spotty - my husband has AT&T which got better service than my Verizon phone. Wi-Fi was spotty. We didn't do very much there and wish the activity schedule had come out sooner. But our kids enjoyed the new playground, pool, jumping pillow, and chess game. We were disappointed that there's no longer a splash pad, but they replaced it with a new playground that looks super fun and is almost finished (wasn't open yet). We especially loved the location - super close to my Rushmore, crazy horse, sylvan lake. A short drive to Custer, wind cave, hot springs, jewel cave.
