Join us Labor Day weekend for the final big Rodeo of the season at Palmer Gulch. This series finale will conclude with the walk of champions and awards ceremony.
Palmer Gulch continues the tradition in 2017 with the areas only polka-fest. Drink great beer, eat great food and listen to two great polka bands. Admission is cheap and the beer is cold, join us!
This program consists of a brief ranger talk, the “Freedom: America's Lasting Legacy” film and the lighting of the sculpture as the audience sings the National Anthem. Military and veterans may participate in a flag-folding ceremony.
More than 200 quilts will be showcased at this show. The show will be held 9a - 4p both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday features an evening dinner, trunk show and open mic Show-and-Tell. For more details, watch this website, see our facebook page or simply contact the Hill City Area Chamber of Commerce, 605.574.2368.
Feel the thunder and join the herd at the annual Custer State Park Buffalo Roundup. Watch cowboys and cowgirls as they roundup and drive the herd of approximately 1,300 buffalo (number of animals vary depending on rangeland conditions). Not only is the roundup a spectacular sight to see, it is also a critical management tool in maintaining a strong and healthy herd.
