We had a spot with the fire pit kinda in the road, but I was able to get it last minute and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. Full hookups are so nice, the bathroom and shower facilities are always clean and very nice. There is a play ground for the kids, corn hole, volley ball. Most of all the staff was very nice and helpful. close to lava walking for tubing, hot pots, food

The lower sites down on the lower end are too tight, probably my only complaint. We love this KOA and will continue to come back to years to come.

The campground is beautiful! Unfortunately, guest do not take care of the bathrooms. We went in a few times and found feces all over a couple of stalls. So sad that people do that.

Campsites are close; campground very near highway and railroad tracks. Despite this, it's a well-kept, well-organized campground. Staff is friendly and helpful. I only had an overnight stay but would consider staying there for longer. Since I always carry silicone ear plugs in my camper, the noise factor didn't bother me. Campground is a 2-3 minute walk from the hot springs, which is very nice.

Nice KOA but check-in was very frustrating. If there is going to be a hard line on the check-in time of 3pm at least equip the desk personnel with a reasonable explanation why early is not acceptable in an empty park.

Great location! It was walking distance to just about everything. A major bummer was that it’s right off the highway, so you gotta get use to the traffic and railroad noise. The other thing we were looking forward to having was Wi-Fi but it was unavailable the entire time of our stay.

If you have pets, or an adult only group. Stay away. If you have kids, stay and have a ball. We did not enjoy our overnight - we had pets and no kids. We had a normal RV spot (no patio), obvious KOA stopped tending to those spots with the new patio spots - they need lots of maintenance, and some water on the "lawns". Check in was RUDE, not a pleasant experience.

Everything was fine except the check-in time at 3pm. Too much $ for less than a day stay for someone passing through. Had to wait outside for 2 hours before check in. Campers were crammed in waiting for check-in. One of the campers that was waiting could see his spot and it was ready, but not allowed in. Have never encountered a 3pm check-in The bathroom facilities were very nice and clean.

It was very clean we don't use the restrooms so can't speak on that, but the most important to my husband is the wi fi it went out just shortly after we arrived and didn't come back on.

Liked lave hot springs and folks at campground very nice and accommodating. They lost Wi-Fi which was irritating. I gave a 5 rating but really 4.5. Very nice location, a short walk to town and great layout of grounds; really nice pull through spots with personal parking space. Clean laundry and shower facilities. They work hard to make things right for guests. I’d stay there again.

My biggest concern was the large curbs around the east end sites. The curbs are way too high and long. They are very difficult to maneuver around. All our neighbors thought the same. If the area was full up this problem would be critical.

We love staying here every time we come to Lava Hot Springs. Clean facilities, nice staff and beautiful views. What can be better?!! Thanks again!

Camp ground was nice but feel that since most shower stalls had benches shower heads that have a line so an person could sit if necessary for multiple reason’s

We like staying at the East KOA. It's convenient and close to town. Camp site and facilities are clean. Do wish there there were more access to the river, but still a short walk.

The camp facilities are great. The restrooms and showers are clean and so much better than one would expect at a camp ground. The laundry room was an unexpected surprise with coin operated washers and dryers. The camp ground was close to the hot springs, the swimming pool, and downtown shopping and eateries, as well as a few reservoirs for fishing.

Very nice, very clean and well landscaped, super friendly staff. A little noisy because of being close to the highway (trucks running their jake brakes and passing trains) but not much can be done about that since they run through the entire valley of Lava. I felt that the bathhouse/laundry by our site could have been better ventilated, but overall would stay again and we had a fun day in Lava.

We stayed in L46 and patio is facing the river. Very nice night bbq and fire pit experience. Close by train tracks and freeway is the downside though. The cabin was very clean and cozy. Kids loved the bunk beds.

The cabins are very cozy, close to the Portneuf river across from the cabins. It runs by some great RV parking spots looking at that river. I gave them 2 stars for service because no one is around Monday to Thursday, along with limited working hours Friday- Sunday. If you want something, you have to get in your vehicle and drive about a mile away to their other office in a different area of town. I find that ridiculous or even worse, asinine, not sure what the owner was thinking of that concept. Everything else was great. Some people might have other opinions about driving away to check out, they should have a drop box located around the office area to drop off the keys where we were staying at, instead of us driving to the other location drop it off, I found that to be very inconvenience for us.
