Chip and Julie Grundon

"Every customer is treated like a VIP at the Lake Placid KOA."

In June, 2013, KOA Inc. purchased the Lake Placid/Whiteface Mountain KOA campground from former owners Richard and Sylvia Nagamine. Since that time, KOA staff has worked closely with the Nagamines to continue their tradition of excellent recreation and camping experiences in this exceptional campground.
Chip and Julie Grundon stepped into the role of managing the campground following the exit of the Nagamines. These longtime KOA campers first came to the Lake Placid/Whiteface Mountain KOA in the 1980s to camp with their children, then joined the KOA Work Kamper program and began working at the campground.
We even had our granddaughter Work Kamp with us, Chip said. Were honored to have the opportunity to manage this great campground.
Chip and Julie are excited to carry on the traditions that Richard and Sylvia set forth over their 14 years of ownership, including the family-focused events, themed weekends and social get-togethers.
Those events create new friends that keep returning to this beautiful area, Chip said. That and our great staff that is proud of their work to make this campground a safe, clean, enjoyable destination. This KOA is a place where families can relax, have fun, and enjoy all our area has to offer.
The Grundons, in their spare time, enjoy photography, spending time with their grandkids, hiking, camping, and farming.
