Feel the thunder and join the herd at the 49th Annual Custer State Park Buffalo Roundup. Watch cowboys and cowgirls as they roundup and drive the herd of approximately 1,300 buffalo (number of animals vary depending on rangeland conditions).The actual Buffalo Roundup will begin at 9:30 a.m. Guests must stay in the viewing areas until the herd is safely in the corrals, generally around noon. Parking lots open at 6:15 a.m. and close at 9 a.m. Handicap parking is provided in all areas, otherwise personal vehicles are not allowed at the corrals.

What to bring: Folding chairs, cameras, binoculars, layered clothing, rain gear and sun screen.

It's not just for cowboys, it's for anyone who loves the Black Hills the way Badger Clark did! Make sure to make this apart of your Buffalo Roundup trip. Friday evening kicks things off with a social hour, buffet and Bunk House Tales open mic featuring some of our guest performers.

Saturday's morning activities begin at 10:00 AM with a round-table workshop given by Slim McNaught & Robert Dennis.

Return to the Mueller Center for the afternoon open session form 2 - 4 PM. This is for anyone who would like to share their poems or songs.

The evening performance will begin at 7 PM at the Mueller Center with a lineup of entertainment.
