Meet Your Hosts
CloseFinding themselves looking for a change in careers, John and Cathy Adler decided to look at something they'd talked about doing for years: possibly owning a campground. That is when they found the Hot Springs KOA. They both loved visiting the southern Black Hills and all it has to offer so they purchased the Hot Springs KOA in late 2009.
Before they purchased the kampground, John worked as a civil engineer for the South Dakota Department of Transportation for 24 years. Cathy spent 17 1/2 years as the Executive Director of the Capital Area United Way and 12 years as the Arts Coordinator for the local arts council.
"Although we enjoyed our jobs, it was finally the right time to embark on our next journey and make the move," said John. "Donning 'KOA yellow' would allow us to utilize our individual skills and work side-by-side."
The Adlers love the beauty of their tree-covered kampground and its proximity to Wind Cave National Park, Custer State Park, Mammoth Site, Evans Plunge and the Wild Horse Sanctuary. Customer service is their top priority while providing a peaceful and relaxing kamping experience.
When not busy with their kampground, the Adlers can be found traveling, RVing, geocaching or participating in other outdoor activities.
The Adlers look forward to welcoming kampers to the Black Hills.
