Welcome Message
John & Cathy Adler

"Welcome to the Hot Springs KOA. Make us your base camp for exploring the beautiful Black Hills."

Meet Your Hosts

Open April 15 - October 31

Plan to spend more than one day to see all the sites throughout the Black Hills.

Our campground is an excellent base camp for your Black Hills vacation. Many unforgettable Black Hills attractions are only a 6 - 80 mile drive from here. Or drive a little further and make a day trip out of it to also take in Devil's Tower or the Badlands. Camp under ponderosa pines in a quiet mountain setting. Enjoy our large heated pool, play a game of mini-golf, or relax in our recreation room (games, exercise equipment and TV). Start your day off right with our all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast ($) from Memorial Day - Labor Day. And catch-up on your e-mails with our free Wi-Fi or on our guest computer in the store. We hope you have a great vacation and we will do all we can to make your stay an enjoyable one.

Finding themselves looking for a change in careers, John and Cathy Adler decided to look at something they'd talked about doing for years: possibly owning a campground. That is when they found the Hot Springs KOA. They both loved visiting the southern Black Hills and all it has to offer so they purchased the Hot Springs KOA in late 2009.

Before they purchased the kampground, John worked as a civil engineer for the South Dakota Department of Transportation for 24 years. Cathy spent 17 1/2 years as the Executive Director of the Capital Area United Way and 12 years as the Arts Coordinator for the local arts council.

"Although we enjoyed our jobs, it was finally the right time to embark on our next journey and make the move," said John. "Donning 'KOA yellow' would allow us to utilize our individual skills and work side-by-side."

The Adlers love the beauty of their tree-covered kampground and its proximity to Wind Cave National Park, Custer State Park, Mammoth Site, Evans Plunge and the Wild Horse Sanctuary. Customer service is their top priority while providing a peaceful and relaxing kamping experience.

When not busy with their kampground, the Adlers can be found traveling, RVing, geocaching or participating in other outdoor activities.

The Adlers look forward to welcoming kampers to the Black Hills.

Deluxe Cabins We are pleased to announce that we are adding two Deluxe Cabins to our campground. They will sleep up to 4 people and include a bathroom with a shower. Make your reservations today to be among of our first guests to experience staying in our Deluxe Cabins. If you can't get in to stay in our new cabins, consider staying in one of our one room cabins. We do have 10 single room cabins available. They can sleep up to 5 people. Of course they do not have a bathroom, but the restrooms/showers are not that far away from all of our cabins. Remember whether you are staying in our Deluxe Cabins or our other Cabins be sure to bring your own linens and towels.

Limited Services Only From November 1, 2011 - April 5, 2012, we are open with limited services only (electric, sewer and WiFi). The store and restrooms will be closed and water will be shut off. Just stop by the night registration box and self register.
