North Carolina's most accessible coastal destination is home once again to the annual Wilmington Boat Show - the largest of its' kind between Annapolis, Maryland and Tampa, Florida. This destination show will feature more than 80 different boat brands including all in-water displays at the Port City Marina with a demo dock for serious boat buyers to take a spin. Pier 33 will have several boat displays along with music and food while the Wilmington Convention Center will feature more boat displays, marine industry exhibits as well as fishing and sailing seminars. Kids can enjoy a plethora of activities including, face painting, a bouncy house and kids fishing seminars with the famed Captain Don Dingman giving out free fishing rods.
This is the 5th annual event in Sunny Carolina Beach right on the Atlantic Ocean, New Hanover County, North Carolina! Please join the Island Men this September for this two day event of activities, scheduled for September 15th and 16th. Racing will be on a 300m race course along the shores of the Carolina Beach Yacht Basin, a protected area of water lined with beach homes, condos, and marinas. Community teams will be racing along with a few club teams from around the region.
This event brings together sports, health and wellness, and arts to celebrate our island community. Proceeds from this event will go directly to benefit Step Up for Soldiers and their programs providing volunteer services for renovations, recreation and recognition for recently disabled Veterans.
Step back in time! Watch and interact with living history interpreters as they bring the Ship to life by re-enacting daily duties and drills. In addition, the WAVES/Home Front unit will portray the lives of women in the Navy and of the men and women on the home front during the war. Enjoy this unique paranormal ghost tour celebrating the Southern tradition of painting porch ceilings Haint Blue to ward off restless souls. Spirits and haunts, or haints, of all ages, from 1850 to 1950, continue to hover around this manor house, particularly in the dining room, upstairs hallway, and children's room. There are lots of true stories of the Poplar Grove's Foy family household haints to share, including a murderous crime of passion. Come discover who these phantoms are, and why they're still here. We will share a little history with you, provide a scroll of the dead, and permit you to focus on a particular room or rooms for paranormal activity.

Currently drawing nearly a quarter-million people, this free, family-oriented celebration is a two-day event and has grown to be a widely anticipated annual celebration. Riverfest was created in February 1979, by a group of Wilmingtonians interested in showcasing downtown Wilmington and the Cape Fear river and has since resulted in a cultural street festival that entices locals and tourists alike to our amazing Historic Downtown.

The PPD IRONMAN 70.3 North Carolina triathlon will take place on much of the same course as its bigger sibling and will feature a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike and 13.1-mile run. This "point-to-point-to-point-to-point" event begins in Wrightsville Beach and takes athletes along the same fast channel swim. The bike course runs through the coastal countryside outside Wilmington, and the run traverses Greenfield Lake before athletes finish in historic downtown Wilmington across from the USS North Carolina Battleship.

The Port City Rib Fest is a celebration of great BBQ, cool music and zany fun. It features champion pitmasters from around the country. They cook on a summer circuit and have been at their trade for a long time. Along with the succulent BBQ offerings, a multitude of side items, desserts and drink options are available. The first Port City Rib Fest was held in August of 2013, adjacent to the USS North Carolina battleship, on the shores of the Cape Fear River. Over 17,000 attendees braved the hottest weekend of the year to partake in the festivities.
The variety of BBQ styles alone makes our festival unique, but we have established a reputation of showcasing original acts from all around the country, but it's our other offerings which make us The Nation's Most Unique BBQ Festival.
The Wilmington Hammerheads FC is pleased to host the 2017 Beach Soccer Classic. The tournament is open to all U10-U18 Boys and Girls (Boys up to U15) Club teams that regularly participate in USYS Challenge, Classic and Premier league play only.
The Beach Soccer Classic will be held the weekend of November 18th - 19th, 2016.

Celebrate the holidays coastal-style at the North Carolina Holiday Flotilla. Voted a Southeast Tourism Society (STS) Top 20 Event, this celebration kicks off Friday night with the Anchor's Away Launch Party. The event is open to the public and includes dinner, a cash bar, live music and a silent auction. The fun continues Saturday with the Festival in the Park featuring over 100 arts and craft vendors, an antique car show, a large play area for children with several inflatables, the always popular Arab Choo Choo, festival food and more. The lighted boat parade begins at 6:00 pm and is followed by a spectacular fireworks show. Don't forget to vote via text for both the "People's Choice" and "Crowd Favorite" awards once the parade starts.

The 16th Annual Dolphin Dip Extravaganza in Surf City, NC, benefits Ocean Cure, which helps at-risk and physically challenged youth achieve healing through surfing. The event features thousands of folks braving the icy waters of the Atlantic Ocean, plus a costume contest, and more.
