Summer, fall, winter, and spring, there is always something fun to do at our KOA. Year-round activities include our 25 meter swimming pool, a large hot tub, sandy playground, recreation room, basketball, horseshoes, tetherball, exercise room, and floor aerobics, tone & stretch classes, and pool aerobics. In summer, activities for children include s'mores, games, crafts, ice cream sundae parties, outdoor movies, and more. In winter, our Winter Texan guests enjoy sunset socials, theme events, live music, hot dog nights, potluck meals, and more. Our friendly staff at the front desk can advise you on specific activities available during your stay.
Summer fun for the young and the young at heart
In summer, kids and adults alike love to cook marshmallows over the campfire and make yummy s'mores on Friday evenings. On Saturdays, enjoy a variety of activities including games, crafts, kite flying, ice cream sundae parties, movies under the stars, and much more! Our KOA front desk staff will be happy to give you a schedule of events and answer any questions that you might have.
At our KOA sightseeing pier, enjoy Pier 19 Restaurant & Bar
Don't just dine on the water; dine OVER the water at Pier 19. Eat indoors or outdoors. Enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Full service Bar. Stroll on the pier and enjoy beautiful sunsets and watch the dolphins. Discounts are available for KOA guests.
Osprey Fishing Trips located at our KOA docks
Call Osprey Fishing Trips at 956-761-6655 and set up a variety of fishing excursions including bay fishing, deep sea fishing, Brownsville Port trips, and more. Osprey's fishing vessels sail right from the KOA dock and these vessels use the latest technology for comfort and stability. The Captains and crew are experienced, helpful, and friendly. Call them for complete details on all trips.
KOA Pool Aerobics
Monday/Wednesday/Friday, at 9 a.m. Pool Aerobics, 9 a.m. at the pool, on Monday/Wednesday/Friday (sunblock, sunglasses, hat, and noodle suggested). These classes free to KOA guests.
KOA Low Impact Floor Aerobics
Stay in shape with low impact aerobics. Classes are held Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7:30 a.m. Classes are free for our KOA guests.
Island fun in August!
Don't miss the fun in August on SPI including Fireworks on the Beach at Clayton's Beach Bar & Grill every Friday and Saturday at 9:15 PM; Hula Shows at the Beach at the Hilton Saturdays at 8:30 PM, Thursday and Friday Night Fireworks on the Bay from Louie's at 9:15 PM. Every Tuesday, enjoy a Luau at Louie's Backyard and every Wednesday, it is Mariachi's at Louie's Backyard. Remember TIFT (Texas Int'l Fishing Tournament) is coming 7/30-8/3. Everyone loves the Bongo Dogs at Wanna Wanna Beach Bar on Saturdays at 8 PM. Enjoy music by Mixed Bag on Friday/Saturday at Hilton Garden Inn from 6-9. Joel Melton will be playing on Tues/Thurs at Louie's at 7 PM. The Birding and Nature Center will be offering guided nature walks (call 956-761-6801). The Sand Castle Summer Contest will occur on Saturdays at various locations. Also, the Farmer's Market every Sunday just north of the Convention Center at 11 AM. Fantastic music on South Padre Island in August
Come for a visit and enjoy music by great singers and bands including Joel Melton (Louie's), Bongo Dogs (Wanna Wanna Beach Bar), Mixed Bag (Hilton), TR3N (Louie's), and Farruko with Nengo Flow at Clayton's. Also, Juicy J and Lil Jon at Clayton's. There is something for everyone on the island in August!

Of course, we already knew that we had some of the best beaches in America, but now everybody knows! Who says you need a passport in search of turquoise waters and pristine shores? Meet Your Hosts
"Welcome to our island, a great place to stay and play!"For more than 17 years, Tom and Stacie Brooks have been enjoying a wonderful ride with Kampgrounds of America and all that the organization has to offer.
These high school sweethearts from north Georgia began their careers in the outdoor hospitality industry entertaining vacationers on cruise ships. They tried "real life" (computer jobs, etc.) briefly, but knew they wanted to continue working together in the business of fun. "We saw an ad in the Orlando paper about manager trainee opportunities at KOA, and the rest is history!" says Stacie.
Tom and Stacie have been on the move managing KOA Kampgrounds from the Pacific to the Atlantic and from New England to the Florida Keys, with a few stops in between. The Brooks' currently manage South Padre Island KOA, and they excel as campground hosts. "We remember that first and foremost the camper is here to have fun," says Tom. "We do whatever we can to ease their worries and provide relaxation and enjoyment."
Campers notice the efforts of Tom, Stacie and their staff. A recent comment card read, "We wanted to let you know what a fine job this park and the staff do for us. We are here for our third winter because of the cleanliness of the facilities, the many kindnesses of the staff, and the great activities."
When not putting their time and energy into the campground, Tom and Stacie love to travel and have visited more than 50 countries. Tom also likes to play the guitar and harmonica, while Stacie is a ventriloquist, enjoys Zumba, and is a TIVO Master.
