3rd year in a row staying. We always loved the camp site. staff have always been friendly and helpful. The campgrounds were always maintained, bathrooms are working properly, a lil bit old and could use some upgrades. Lots of trees and hills, well spread apart from other campers. Its a hidden gem away from the city but close enough for emergencies. Would definitely come back again. Thanks again.

It was a very good experience..this was our first time here I had read some negative reviews but I gave it a try was not disappointed only negative was the pool could have been heated,staff was friendly,campground and bathrooms clean..thank you will visit again..

Loves our stay over the weekend. Facilities were clean and the camp site where we set up was clean too. My three year old enjoyed the jumping pillow and meeting Kevin. The pool was nice, but to cold.

We had a very nice spot on the campground. The best part of the campground is the people running it. They are very nice and helpful! Possible improvements are the number of bathrooms and showers. There was only one near our site. Also, there is a lack of watertaps nearby. The price for a spot is very high and then we would expect more facilities.

Camping during the heat wave was so much better with a refreshing pool and awesome campsite. Staff was friendly and the facilities were clean during the holiday weekend.

Been coming to this KOA for 20 plus years love its friendly staff, clean campsites and how there are plenty of activities for the whole family. Overall an amazing place to camp definitely will be back for another stay soon.

1 toilette, 1 douche, pas tres propre et tres loin de l emplacement. Le koa n’est pas goudronné du tout, on mange de la poussière à chaque passage de voiture, et 60€ la nuit pour deux tentes vu les aménagements c’est trop cher. Le pire koa jamais vu.

The showers are very old, they really need to be refreshed. If you have kids, the campground is great but otherwise a more simple campground is enough (no playgrounds, no jumping station,..). We have no kids and were in front of the jumping station, many places were empty, we told them we did not like our place (at 8:03am kids are jumping and yelling) but they did not even fake to try to settle us

The staff was awesome very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place everything was so beautiful the nature and sleeping out door was a nice experience it was my first time camping and I loved it the bathrooms were right next to my camp site and there was shade most of the time you do need to watch for skunks but other than that I loved it.

Internet temperature was different from real temperature. Loved all activities for the kids. They really enjoyed thier camping experience. Although the kids were afraid of the spiders and thier webs hanging from above the shower. All in all it was a great stay.

It was my first time staying at a KOA and it did not disappoint. The staff was so helpful and friendly from the moment we got there. We already booked another stay for Labor Day weekend.

i loved all the activities and amentities you had such as kevin the emu, the pool, the jump pillow, the slides, hayride, movies. Only thing that i think could be improved is the camping spot we were in had fine powdery dust/dirt which got on everything, yes i know its camping but i think that you could maybe put some other kind of surface there like gravel or regular dirt and it would make it nice

We enjoyed our stay very much! The remote tent site was beautiful and quiet. It is a hike to the bathroom over hills. Our son loved the jumping pillow. It was an easy drive to Morro Bay.

Helpful staff. Clean site, restrooms and shower. Great to have a little ‘market’ for wood, ice, drinks, snacks and camp stuff. They allowed campfires where most of the local campgrounds don’t. Nice hikes and views from upper part of the campground. Most sites have there own water and power and natural shade. (Important in hot local summers.) Ground is hard packed dusty clay. Everyone was so nice and super welcoming! Loved staying here we had a total of 12 kids and they loved exploring and using pool and the pillow! Will definitely be coming back!

4th or 5th time staying at the Santa Margarita Campground. We always loved the staff who are always friendly and attentive. The Campground is a bit hilly and secluded which we like. Its beautiful at night and nice in the early morning. Lots of Shades and trees. Bathrooms are clean, well supplied but can use some remodeling. The place is safe, lots of activities for the kids. Will return again.

We loved our stay at KOA! Clean facilities hot showers, electricity and wifi. Our kids had so much fun at the pool and the pillow we were sad to leave. We will be back soon!

bathrooms could have been cleaner and more updated. it was very dusty at this campground, more so than others. the wind alone picked up dusty and blew it around. we also had a not so friendly encounter with a staff person. we were told a security person would meet us at our late arrival to help us find out site, but there was no one on duty when we arrived. pool bathrooms were gross.

Awesome campground! had everything we needed. We enjoyed the pool, the jumping pillow and the beautiful walk/hike in the fields/hills. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 is because the restrooms were not the best experience. They're a bit small and outdated and the toilets were not working too well and not the cleanest (maybe the holiday crowd). Also wish they had at least one family restroom!

This is an excellent place if you need a fully equipped cabin down to a tent campsite. Being built into a hillside allows more privacy between sites than you would expect from a typical KOA experience. The hosts are very helpful and very accommodating. Can't say enough about what makes this a step above the typical KOA location as it has been for decades.
