"This is a family-owned and family-run campground," says Daryle. "We have always loved working with people and we take great pride in our service!"
"We strive to provide the best camping experience possible at the Salina KOA," says Terri.
"Spending time, and working with, our children and mother is what makes owning the kampground so special for us," says Daryle.

Rock City is 31/2 miles south of Minneapolis off Highway 106. There is small gift shop where Rock City, Inc. the local non-profit corporation that operates the park, collects a $3 fee. There is a bucket to leave money when the gift shop is closed.

Mushroom Rock State Park
About 20 miles SW of Salina, Kansas off Highway 140 is Kansas smallest state park- Mushroom Rock State Park. The 5 acre park is about 2 miles south of the highway on dirt roads that can be very bad after a rain. The park is surrounded by farms and you can usually hear cattle lowing nearby.
It has Dakota sandstone concretions much like Rock City but here most are not nearly as exposed. There could be a great many concretions at this park, but almost all are still covered by the surrounding soil and only a portion is seen. The underlying rock is softer sandstone and is eroding away, but some of it still remains and has been supporting three of the rocks for many years.

Prairie Lavender Farm
We are a small farm committed to producing limited quantities of handmade lavender products, striving for the highest quality at a reasonable price giving our customers an exceptional value. Established in 2002, Prairie Lavender Farm resides on the cusp of the tallgrass and shortgrass prairies of North-central Kansas. It also sits on the South side of a hill above the Dakota Aquifer and upon a sandstone shelf, which gives greats drainage for the lavender plants. Even though we have quite sandy loam, it tests out above neutral in the alkaline range of which the lavender loves.
We now grow over 3000 plants with twelve varieties of Lavender about half are the Lavendula angustifolia (English lavender).

Garden of Eden
The Garden of Eden is a finalist for the 8 Wonders of Kansas because it is a world-renowned grassroots art site with one of the most fascinating(and bizarre) sculpture gardens in the world!
In 1907, at the age of 62, Civil War veteran Samuel Perry Dinsmoor began construction of this unusual site by building a structure of limestone logs, (some up to 21 feet long) for the family home. Then, using 113 tons of cement, Dinsmoor built 40-foot tall trees to hold his larger than life figures for his sculpture garden. He stopped working on the sculpture in 1929 because he went blind!
Dinsmoor also built a mausoleum to house his mummified remains! Always a jokester, he claimed he would wink at anyone who paid to tour the garden. His vision was accurate and today the Garden of Eden supports itself through admissions. While Dinsmoor was building and creating locals tried to run him out of town. Decades later, The Garden of Eden became the town's main attraction and today Lucas is known as the Grassroots Art Capital Rock Garden and Mri Pillar's 3D art of recycled products

Central Kansas Flywheels Yesteryear Museum
The Central Kansas Flywheels Yesteryear Museum is a rare window allowing us to glimpse into the past and marvel at the achievements of our early pioneer ancestors. In a time when we see the family farm disappearing and old-time skills and techniques being lost, the Central Kansas Flywheels Yesteryear Museum was conceived by those men and women who were involved in agriculture and wanted to preserve the spirit of the early plains settlers. A common bond of appreciation for the past and a desire to share a fading way of life has lead to the exhibits and artifacts displayed throughout the Museum. We proudly maintain a strong preservation tradition.
