Meadville KOA Wins Major Award During Annual Convention BILLINGS, MONTANA (November 8, 2012) – The Meadville KOA Campground has been awarded the 2011 KOA President’s Award by Kampgrounds of America, the world’s largest system of family-friendly campgrounds. The award was presented Tuesday, November 8 at KOA’s annual International Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The KOA President’s Award is presented annually to campgrounds that receive high scores in customer service from their campers, and also receive top scores in KOA’s annual Quality Review.

KOA surveys hundreds of thousands of campers each year regarding their KOA camping experience.

“Our campers play a key role in helping us select the very best KOA campgrounds to receive these awards,” said Kampgrounds of America Inc. President Pat Hittmeier. “This year, as we celebrate KOA’s 50th birthday, these awards take on a special meaning. To be one of the very best in a longstanding, iconic company like KOA really is a unique honor that this special KOA campground can share with its campers.”

Meadville KOA joined Kampgrounds of America system in May of 2011. This is their first major award as a KOA Kampground.

The Ducky News is our Weekend activity schedule that lists when the activities are happening, what is happening, and where it's happening. Every camper is provided a written copy at check in! Make sure you get yours so you don't miss any of the fun!

Basketball Get some guys together and shoot hoops! The b-ball can be signed out at the store/office at no charge! Simply return it when you're done!

Allegheny Geo Trail! Geocaching (pronounced “geo-cashing’) is a great family activity! This adventure sport/hobby involves the use of a handheld GPS receiver, and based on information provided on geocaching.com. The Allegheny GeoTrail is perhaps the largest of its kind, encompassing ten counties throughout northwestern and north-central Pennsylvania. Within each county are between 10 and 20 designated geocaches which make up the “trail”. The quest to find these caches will take participants throughout the rugged and scenic land of the Allegheny National Forest and its surrounding gateway counties. (It's a modern Day Treasure Hunt!) Find six or more caches within a county, and earn that county's unique geocoin. Find six caches in each of all ten counties, and earn a special geocoin that represents the entire trail. The Erie National Wildlife Refuge The Erie National Wildlife Refuge is just 5 miles from the campground and has over 8700 acres. You may even see their nesting bald eagles! You can drive around and through it, hike on the trails, and see 237 species of migratory birds, and other wildlife.
