Welcome Message
Within two hours of Chicago we're a great get-a-way; and for our weary travelers, enjoy the serenity of our surroundings.
Simple pleasures like Saturday night summer hayrides or joining in a game of candy bar bingo abound at this quiet country retreat. Have the kids dip a line into the children's fishing creek or tool around on rented pedal carts. Sun worshippers choose among plenty of sunny campsites, while shade-lovers settle under leafy oaks. Just 5 miles south, the deep canyons and towering moss-covered bluffs at Starved Rock State Park will make you feel as though you've left the Prairie State altogether. Hike up to 13 miles of marked trails along canyons with splashing waterfalls. At nearby Matthiessen State Park, hike up to 5 miles of vigorous trails with unusual and beautiful rock formations. Enjoy restaurants, shopping and golf in the area too.
