KOA Kamp Green Recognition
KOA Kamp Green Recognition
This KOA meets the established criteria to become a greener campground operation and is recognized by the "Kamp Green" icon.
Plan to spend more than one day to see all the sites throughout the Black Hills.
Our campground is an excellent base camp for your Black Hills vacation. Many unforgettable Black Hills attractions are only a 6 - 80 mile drive from here. Or drive a little further and make a day trip out of it to also take in Devil's Tower or the Badlands.
Camp under ponderosa pines in a quiet mountain setting. Enjoy our large heated pool, play a game of mini-golf, or relax in our recreation room (games, exercise equipment and TV). Start your day off right with our all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast ($) from Memorial Day - Labor Day. And catch-up on your e-mails with our free Wi-Fi or on our guest computer in the store.
We hope you have a great vacation and we will do all we can to make your stay an enjoyable one.
Meet Your Hosts
Finding themselves looking for a change in careers, John and Cathy decided to look at something they'd talked about doing for years - owning a campground. That is when they found the Hot Springs KOA. They both loved visiting the southern Black Hills and all it has to offer so they purchased the Hot Springs KOA in late 2009.
Before they purchased the campground, John worked as a civil engineer for the South Dakota Department of Transportation for 24 years. Cathy spent 17 1/2 years as the Executive Director of the Capital Area United Way as well as worked during the same time as the Arts Coordinator for the local arts council for 12 years.
"Although we enjoyed our jobs, it was finally the right time to embark on our next journey and make the move," said Cathy.
The Adlers love the beauty of their tree-covered campground and its proximity to Wind Cave National Park, Custer State Park, Mammoth Site, Evans Plunge and the Wild Horse Sanctuary. Customer service is their top priority while providing a peaceful and relaxing camping experience.
"We have done a lot of camping and we know what we liked as well as what we expect in a campground," said John. "We hope that our campground reflects what we think a good campground should be and hope that campers will like it here too."
When not busy with their campground, the Adlers can be found traveling, RVing, geocaching or participating in other outdoor activities.
The Adlers look forward to welcoming visitors to the Black Hills.
