If you need tv in tour camper, forget it. Satalite access very limited.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Trees....trees....trees. Great for shade, not too good for TV. Hope you enjoyed your stay though!

Our campsite the first night was near the highway and there was a fair amount of traffic noise. The next morning, our hosts arranged for a site well away from the roads and the problem was solved in a quick and friendly way. :)

The ONLY thing that I didn't like was in the kabin having the bunk beds in the 1st room. The reason we love the kabins is because of the two rooms and being able to have the kids to bed and close the door and still be up and able to go in and out of the kabin. Other than that EVERY thing else was PERFECT!! We already made our reservations for next year. Great planned activities for the kids.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you. We'll look into the bunk bed situation. New lodges are coming 2014! Come visit us again.

We were disappointed for lack of pool, water slide, no theme weekend, no music, no activities and were charged only $4 less on an already higher priced campground with no extra amenities. We have come here for years& recommended KOA to many for amenities&friendliness of staff&would like to continue coming if these things improve. We have usually enjoyed previous stays & were very disappointed.

Very nice campground...extremely clean and well laid out...great service and responsive help.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you. We're going to have remodeled our water slide, restrooms/showers, 3 new lodges, deluxe tent sites and new additional premium patio sites for the 2014 season. Come see us grow and have a great visit!

This was a birthday weekend for my young son. He and his friends were very excited to be camping and most excited to swim in the pool, play on the slide, and night glow-in-the-dark golf as outlined on both the KOA website and the Hayward camping website, which state these activities are available through October. On arrival we discovered the pool and slide were closed for the season. No golf also.

Very on friendly Entertainment very costly Not what I expected Will not return to this KOA agian

The campground had drained the pool, didn't tell any campers ahead of time. Propane grill was out of gas. Deluxe cabin was very clean and nice.

I enjoyed the extra cirricular activities for the kids however it nickled and dimed us to death. Not only to we have to pay extra to have the children stay at our campsite you have to pay to use the slide, jumping ballon, tubing, and even the bingo activity. Also disappointed in the early evening quite time. Camping is about enjoying a camp fire and talking with your friends but not after 11!

The staff was very friendly and treated us well. It is an older campground, but has been well maintained and is very comfortable and cozy.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

When comments like this are made it makes all the work worth while. Thank you. New lodges are coming 2014! See you again.

A nice park with good play opportunities for children and close to Hayward with good services in town.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Glad to hear you had a fun time. We attempt to provide as much fun for the whole family as possible.
Sep 09, 2013
this campground was very nice it was the cleanest we have been to the kids loved it only wished the pool was open but that is ok that we can come back next year when it is open and maybe even rent a cabin thank you so much for a pleasant stay

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We're really glad you enjoyed your stay. We work hard to keep the grounds and buildings spotless and we will pass this along to our staff. Look for us when you return this coming season!

WE met cousins there, and spent most of the time catching up with them. No need for the pool among us.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We had a couple of different guests unexpectedly run into family and friends this year. Glad you all had an enjoyable time. Weather and staff permitting, we're going to try and keep the pool open an additional week this 2014 season....We'll hope for warm September weather! Thanks for the comments.

For activities I rate this KOA a 10. But the cleanliness has gone from a 10 to a 4 in the last year or so with the new management. The bathrooms and showers were very dirty. The soap and towel dispensers were empty most of the time. The toilet paper is so thin that it tears when you try to take a piece and therefore the floor is littered with paper. Sanitary disposals were overflowing. Awful.

As usual, a great place to stay with close access to Hayward and a lot of fine eating places!

We really loved ur campground. The only thing we wish was different was the charge for the slide and bouncey pillow; its too expensive to pay individually and the kids had to look s at it anx be told we couldn't afford it. We just feel that if u were to increase the camping rate by $5 for everyone and included these actvities, u could still make money and people like us wouldn't have to say no.
Sep 05, 2013
Would be kinda nice to have "alittle" grass in between sites but wasn't a huge deal. Got alittle irritating that you had to whisper, at most, after 11 but we could understand do to the tent campers- We will be back!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thanks for the comments. See you next year!

This was my first time at a koa. The front desk clerks were very touchy and kinda rude. The rv sights were soo jam packed together it was not a relaxing weekend at all. There was no grates to cook on for the fire pits. Even attempted on buying one but were all sold out. One showering station for the whole place , very inconvenient. And wood was way over priced. Will not ever stay at a koa again.
Sep 04, 2013
I felt with a very busy weekend with many campers that the bathrooms needed to be checked more often. They were dirty and smelled and to keep it stocked with supplies. The showers were not very warm and some were even cold and also cleaned more often. There should be more showers and bathroom facilities for as big as the campground is getting. We will be back next year.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thanks for you comments. With the size of the park, the bathrooms are a challenge. We have hired additional housekeepers for the 2014 season which will focus primarily on the restrooms. We're also remodeling the water slide restroom building this coming Spring! Glad you enjoyed your stay.
Sep 04, 2013
We had a wondeful time! Love the campground and all the activities/things to do. Only suggestion is to move the smokers away from the office doorway/swimming pool entrance. We have allergies and had to wait several times to pass by that area! Also, we "escape" to camping for the fresh air!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Smoking in that area is constant work. We have placed "no Smoking" signage and created a smoking area away from the pool etc. Thanks for the thoughts. We're looking forward to 2014!
Sep 04, 2013
More activities should be included (no extra cost) for campers. "Heated" pool was ice cold! bought expensive tiny packs of firewood because no campground we've ever gone to has allowed you to bring your own. Didn't use one pack (still wrapped). Would not let us return it!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Sorry to hear not all was to your expectations. We were forced to locate a new supplier (higher priced) of firewood, due to the old supplier no longer being available. Check out our web page for 2014 activities. We look forward to seeing you again. Thanks
Sep 04, 2013
This was our first trip to KOA. We had a very nice time.Very clean park. Few suggestions... More seating for adults watching over children in play ground and "Bouncy" area. I had to see for myself after I was told by a friend that you were selling candy CIGARETTES!! It would be hard to believe you actually thought that was a good idea in a children's park!!! Shame on you!!!.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you for your comments. We'll look into the candy situation. Hope to see you next year!
Sep 04, 2013
We had a great stay! Very Clean, maitained very well. The only thing I would change is not charging for mini golf or if you are going to charge, the course needs to be updated and fixed. The course was not maintained at all.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Glad you had a great time and thanks for the comments. We have replaced all of the wood and all of the carpet in the mini golf area, created a pond/fountain and increased the flower gardens as well, so check us out in 2014 for the new additions. Thanks
Sep 04, 2013
Great campground! Our campsite however did not accommodate our camper. Once we had our slides out we were pinned between 2 rows of trees. No room to let our awning out :( 35 ft travel trailer with 2 slides. Site 228. We loved the trees but that site could use a few less.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are removing around 250 trees this coming season to assist with accommodating larger units and easier movements.
Sep 03, 2013
I was very upset to see the camp store sold candy cigarettes. This is totally inappropriate as it sends a bad message to kids that smoking is cool.
Sep 03, 2013
We have stayed at the KOA in Hayward, WI for several years over Labor Day weekend (about 10 sites booked for our family). This was by far the worst Customer Service we have ever received there. We did book again for next year but we did have a discussion if we should, we are going to try it one more year to see if we get the same experience.

I like the campground but I honestly think they should make 2 different areas because quiet time at 11:00 pm is not for us. We are all late 30's with kids and socialize at night because we do kids stuff during the day so that being said having a rude man coming over telling us to keep it down when all we were doing is talking is to much! And I heard the same story from different campers I met.
Sep 03, 2013
When paying a good amount for a campsite, some things should be included.Wristbands were overpriced. Most of staff were friendly, could relax a little on quiet hours.
Sep 03, 2013
The staff is excellent

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you....they really work hard!
Sep 03, 2013
Really missed the tie dyed t-shirts that you could make! Closer monitoring of the jumpy pillow. Maybe have a rule that children under 12 need to be supervised by parent when using.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Great ideas! Check out the web site for updated activities in 2014, tie-dye is back! Thanks
Sep 03, 2013
The only problem I have is there is not enough parking for the Cabins. I had one for the weekend and there was barely any room for one vehicle to park and not block any part of the road.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are aware of the parking and we're working hard to limit the amount of guests staying per site, in order to allow our regular paying guests enough room for their vehicles. Glad you had a nice visit.

Wonderful place to stay with children! Lots to do! Our group had a blast but we think that the bouncy pillow should be free, also the 11pm quiet time is just fine however we were sitting by the fire talking and told to be quiet. Maybe they should have a side for people that want to stay up past 11pm and able to talk outside and then a quiet side as well to please all. But overall a great stay!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you for your thoughts. With as many trees in the park as there are... the sounds/talking is held near the ground and really travel throughout the park. We always wish for all guests to enjoy themselves, but 11 PM is as late as we dare go. Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay.
Sep 03, 2013
We stayed in a clean, comfortable cabin. The pool was refreshing and fun. Tubing was a blast and afordable. The fire ring was not up to par and we didn't like being next to the dumpsters due to the smell but the employee's were willing to bring us a fire ring that worked great. The staff was friendly and helpful.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thanks for the comments. ALL new fire rings are on our list of improvements. Glad the staff helped you out. See us in 2014
Sep 02, 2013
The amenities and bathrooms were great and staff was helpful. The biggest downfall to this campground is the dirt/sand and the $36 wristbands for the water slide/jumping pillow/ tubing.
Sep 02, 2013
Despite assurances, our tipi leaked. And there was a distinct sewage odor at our campsite. We have come to this campground at least once each year for the past 4 years. I doubt that we'll camp there again.
