2,500 + bicyclists start their journey right on the streets of downtown Hayward for the Chequamegon Fat Tire Race. It's a site to see for young and old alike. Here at the Hayward KOA ,we do our part by providing a complimentary spaghetti dinner for bicyclist (and guests) on Friday evening for a strong and fast start, and then we provide a cleaning station to spiff up after the race.
Schools are back in session and autumn is here to stay but don't fret as we are all smiles at the KOA! Come and have a relaxing time at the campground, and enjoy the display of nature's most beautiful colors around the area. Check out what Hayward's downtown Fall Festival has to offer. Afterwards, come back and cherish the warmth of your fire ring and listen to the whispering winds go through the trees.
Apples in pies, Apple in jars, Apples to buy, Apples in cars ! If you haven't guessed it, Bayfield will be showing their love for this all - time favorite fruit with their Apple Festival. Or drive on over to Stone Lake to view the cranberry fields and join in the merriment of their Cranberry Festival. You might need to don a jacket but it's sublime to breath in autumn and watch the leaves dancing in the breeze.
